I remember I liked their last one when it first came out, and ended up getting the record. I wasn't feeling it later on when I was revisiting everything for my year end list, and left it out my top 20 of last year. I like this new one a lot more though as well!

I dont know if my mind is playing tricks on me, but didnt you buy that jazz fusion album from Mexican band Bahía de Ascenso I suggested a while ago? Well, Silvana sings on that record. I mean, both albums sound NOTHING alike, but I think her expressive and personal singing shines through even on the busy jams of BDA.
 
So the new Animal Collective is interesting cause it's almost like what if they just kept going in the direction of Sung Tongs - Feels - Strawberry Jam? I'm not one of the fans that dislikes Painting With. I actually love that album. But the weirder textured sounds of their earlier best material is not on PW so much. It's all over Time Skiffs though. This is definitely better than Tangerine Reef, the last Panda Bear album, and the last two Avey Tare albums. I can confidently say that. But I gotta keep listening to dig into it more. There's a lot going on.


Now onto the new Saba album, which I didn't realize existed until yesterday.

The echoing guitars 🎸, dreamy synths, luscious strings and beautiful pop sensibilities makes this breezy DIY piece of art a must listen 👌

For fans of Guided By Voices, Black Tambourine, and 80s jangle pop.
