The Seattle Kraken signed forward Jaden Schwartz to a five-year contract with an average annual value of $5.5 million, the team announced Wednesday.

Schwartz had spent his entire 10-year career with the St. Louis Blues and was one of the marquee names available in this summer's free-agent crop.

He immediately makes Seattle's forward group deeper and should fit seamlessly in the top six.

Schwartz had 21 points in 40 games last season and averaged over 17 minutes per contest. He's appeared in 560 career games and notched 385 points.

St. Louis selected him 14th overall in 2010. He won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

The San Jose Sharks signed forward Nick Bonino to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $2.05 million, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.

Bonino, 33, spent last season with the Minnesota Wild. He totaled 10 goals and 16 assists in 26 games.

The veteran previously spent time with the Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, and Anaheim Ducks. In 681 career games, he's managed 132 goals and 176 assists.
