The Colorado Avalanche have found their replacement for Philipp Grubauer.

The Arizona Coyotes have dealt goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Avs in exchange for defenseman Conor Timmins and a first-round pick, according to Craig Morgan of azcoyotesinsider.com.

Grubauer, the former Avs starter, signed a six-year deal with the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday.

Kuemper is coming off a down year by his standards, as he posted a .907 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average in 27 games. He also battled injuries throughout the campaign.

However, in the three seasons prior, the 31-year-old owned a .924 save percentage and a 2.35 goals-against average in 113 appearances.

Kuemper is in the final year of his contract, which carries a $4.5-million cap hit.

The Buffalo Sabres are taking care of business in their own crease.

Buffalo signed free-agent goalies Craig Anderson and Aaron Dell to one-year deals worth $750,000, the team announced Wednesday.

Anderson started just two regular-season games with the Washington Capitals last season, but he authored a stellar .929 save percentage in two playoff appearances.

The 40-year-old spent the bulk of his career with the Ottawa Senators, where he holds the franchise record in wins (202). He has also suited up for the Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, and Colorado Avalanche.

Anderson ranks fifth among active goalies in career wins (291) and second in career saves (19,994). He owns a .913 save percentage across 652 games played.

Dell, 32, has authored a .906 save percentage across 114 career NHL games, most of which he's played with the San Jose Sharks. The 32-year-old recorded a .857 save percentage in seven contests with the New Jersey Devils this past season.

The Sabres were in need of goaltenders after Linus Ullmark and Carter Hutton departed in free agency. Buffalo's top goalie prospect, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, and Dustin Tokarski are likely destined for the minors.

The Minnesota Wild have signed free-agent defenseman Dmitry Kulikov to a two-year pact with an average annual value of $2.25 million, the team announced Wednesday.

The 6-foot-1 left-handed shot put up just four assists this past season while splitting time between the New Jersey Devils and the Edmonton Oilers. However, over 38 games with Kulikov on the ice at five-on-five, the Devils controlled 52% of the shot attempts and 55% of the expected goals.

Kulikov only played in 10 contests for the Oilers last campaign after being acquired at the trade deadline.

The 30-year-old was drafted 14th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2009. He's registered 957 blocked shots and 1,149 hits in 725 career NHL games. Kulikov has also previously suited up for the Buffalo Sabres and the Winnipeg Jets.

The Dallas Stars signed defenseman Jani Hakanpaa to a three-year contract with an average annual value of $1.5 million, the team announced Thursday.

The club also signed forward Michael Raffl to a one-year contract worth $1.1 million.

Hakanpaa split time between the Anaheim Ducks and Carolina Hurricanes last season. Overall, he mustered up two goals and two assists in 57 games.

"Jani is a big, physical defenseman that sees the ice well and skates at a high level for a man of his size," general manager Jim Nill said. "He is a reliable penalty killer and will help balance out our backend."

The St. Louis Blues drafted the right-shot blue-liner in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft, but he never suited up for the team. The 29-year-old spent four campaigns playing with Karpat of the Finnish Elite League before returning to North America in 2019.

Raffl spent his entire NHL career with the Philadelphia Flyers before being dealt to the Washington Capitals at last year's trade deadline. The 32-year-old had four goals and seven assists through 44 games.

"Michael is a solid two-way forward with good hockey sense, allowing him to play in a variety of situations," Nill said. "He has a strong, physical presence on the ice and will add veteran savvy and depth to our lineup."

Hakanpaa has 62 games of NHL experience under his belt with three goals and two assists. Raffl is a veteran of 514 games and has totaled 82 goals with 81 assists.
