Nom nom nom - Food Thread

Getting ready to start to smoke/sous vide a pork tenderloin this afternoon.

I smoke for about 45min/1hr, then sous vide for the usual time....seems to work well with pork chops, so I'm going with the same plan for this.

Also gonna try to whip up a mushroom sauce to go with it...we will see how that turns out.

I used our Instant Pot for the first time ever today. I did chicken thighs and I have to say; they came out better than any time I've grilled them. I did a simple dry rub this time, but I'll definitely be trying different concoctions over the winter.

This is without a doubt my favorite chicken thigh pressure cooker recipe. Made easier if you have a stick blender.

I cannot tell you all how excited I am to have complete creative control over Thanksgiving Turkey this year. It's been 5 years since I've cooked a bird and I AM READY!

Did some pre-cooking last night. Got the Sausage cornbread dressing mostly finished, just need to re-bake it just before we eat.

Gonna be smoking the turkey breast later this morning/noon-ish.

I have made two batches of from-scratch chicken noodle soup in the Instant Pot this week. What a magical device.
The insta pot is the only kitchen gadget I’ve bought in the last ten years that was worth the money.

Edit: I mean my turkey stock is cooking in it right now.

Anybody ever have the problem of the turkey being done too soon....
Kinda overshot the cooking time and it’s ready before the guests even got here.
Oh well plenty of time to rest then.
