Oh no doubt. I hope it didn’t come off as I was defending him. I definitely wasn’t. I think he was negligent. I was just saying I don’t he showed up here I thought he was going to take advantage of the community. I think he got in too deep and shady people do shady th..

I know. I just experienced him being condescending and combative in other ways and with how egregious and excessive his actions were with others, I don't have it in me to think of defenses for him that he wasn't willing to make for himself.

Unfortunately, there have been multiple people on the forum, over the years, that completely vanished after being called out or questioned on some very basic actions.

Not to bring someone else into this, but look at @Ghost for example. When he was questioned about taking a long time to ship certain things, he completely owned up to being negligent about it. Plus, there were enough of us that could vouch for him in numerous other situations. I've been pretty bad about turnaround with that stuff, myself, at times. Life gets in the way. But I remember one guy who actually lived pretty close to me that frequented the PIF thread. I noticed he was claiming a lot and offering nothing except the occasional unclaimed $1 bin item. I said one thing about it and he completely vanished forever. Ironically, where Ghost stayed and communicated, others have completely ghosted.

The optics are not great when you disappear rather than address concerns and even worse when you're defensive toward the people that feel you have wronged them. Even if I felt like I was being falsely accused and decided I was done with the lot of you, I'd make my statement on the way out. Then again, I'm dramatic that way.

I guess my point (if I have one) is that, although he's not here to defend himself, he could have been. He chose not to be. He was more than happy to keep claiming and selling things, while knowingly not following through.

That feels like a lack of respect for this entire community to me. He could still send those records even now, but my guess is that he hasn't and won't. Plus, I wouldn't want @tvham, or whoever initiated whatever brought everything to light, to feel bad about what came of it. They had every right to speak up. It helped a lot of others realize they weren't alone and prevented even more from being duped in the future. We self regulate here. It's an unfortunate situation all around, but I like seeing people care about this place and how it's affected.

I have had some dreadful turnaround times in PIFs. I always own up to it and try to throw some extra in the box when it does happen.

There's a bunch of those Lego turntable sets for sale on ebay for around $40 if y'all wanna "gift" yourself something for the holidays. Search "Lego 40699". My kids are gonna be blown away by how Santa knows exaaaaactly what I like.

Edit: not really an online vinyl deal, actually slightly overpriced, haha, but thought I'd share regardless.

I’ll chime in on my JCF PIF experiences, I got what was promised (I think it was only 1 or 2 though) and he was always pretty chill about things in my interactions with him. I think that he got way behind and handled it poorly is probably what happened. It was pretty shitty to leave so many people hanging and to not bow out if he couldn’t keep up. I sat Secret Santa out this year because I’ve been so swamped with work that it is a privilege when I can listen to a record or two and most of my posting is when I’m waiting in court for a case to be called (this one is me procrastinating). I have no faith that I can be a good Santa this year.

I wanna say JCfan sent @Mack37 a bunch of beater records in a PIF, purposely misgraded.
Oh it wasn’t I a pif. I bought three Jimi records from him. It’s weird our messages start right before he finally sent them with me saying sorry to hear that, so I don’t remember the price. They were cheap, but he said something like vg+. I couldn’t even play the records and the sleeves were stinky and beat up. Ended up just purchasing new ones.

Edit: and when I did send the money it took forever for him to send the records. I think that was what the sorry to hear that was. Said he was sick, but seems like he had everything known to man or used a different one for different people?

Edit again: To early! Didn’t go back the 4 pages for this message. It started as a pif then I bought the rest he had to offer because all the sudden he was going to take them to his local for some records he had saved there or some bs. Something like that, still to early for me.

I mean looking at the sheet right now is -6 really that shameful?
ehhhhh, it's just after pifs giving, numbers are a bit higher than average. also it was more about the delay than the numbers themselves.
I wonder if he died 🤔. He was an old guy with health problems 🤣. Maybe we gave him a heart attack when we piled in on him and that’s why he hasn’t come back to make good on it all.
no, after he uh, ghosted the the forum (pardon the expression), like a month or two later his profile got locked down.

I guess this is the spot in the thread where I say to those of you who I picked up RSD Black Friday records for - all of whom have already faithfully paid me - first thank you, and second - that I WILL get your records out to you and a shipping information this weekend.

I don't want the JCF stink to wash over me around here.

What's the process for ordering these? Calling or going into the store to special order them?
And the items just ring up at that price? Sign O The Times is on my list. Hopefully Diamonds And Pearls Deluxe ends up discounted soon too!

Just call and tell them you’d like to order some records and have them shipped to your house. I just called and they said they were sold out. Let me know if you have different results!

wish we could pin a comment haha.

1. go to a local store or can try calling one (hit or miss...some let you order over the phone).
2. ask them if they have certain albums in stock.
3. if they say no, ask if they can order from the warehouse for you and confirm the prices after they look up.
4. pay and get it shipped to home or store.
5. profit.

As much as I also enjoy the abuse of deceased equine, it’s also worth noting that for every one bad dude we have literally a couple dozen good people sending records, selling records, doing awesome shit like @Yer Ol' Uncle D’s club and YEARS of members helping members on limited/RSD pickups. So. I mean, just to bring things back a little.

The only way you can avoid the stink is to send me a fiver.

Or you can search the comments here and see my screen shot breakdown of how to google search your local b&n which would enable you to reserve it there and go pick it up, if you wanted to avoid fun and games with whomever answers the phone when you call.

It’s gotta be a clue. Fiver. Johnny Cash was born in Arkansas, but Fievel sounds like fiver and Fievel went west. Kansas is the root word of ArKansas, which is west. JCF landed in Dodge City, KS, only to then get the hell out of there. He then went to Quebec to better understand Leonard Cohen. He discovered poutine and suffered a massive heart attack. He was then airlifted to Boston for a life saving heart transplant. It was there he met Dr. Dre, who said “I can’t operate on this man, he’s my son!”
