Oh no doubt. I hope it didn’t come off as I was defending him. I definitely wasn’t. I think he was negligent. I was just saying I don’t he showed up here I thought he was going to take advantage of the community. I think he got in too deep and shady people do shady th..
I know. I just experienced him being condescending and combative in other ways and with how egregious and excessive his actions were with others, I don't have it in me to think of defenses for him that he wasn't willing to make for himself.
Unfortunately, there have been multiple people on the forum, over the years, that completely vanished after being called out or questioned on some very basic actions.
Not to bring someone else into this, but look at @Ghost for example. When he was questioned about taking a long time to ship certain things, he completely owned up to being negligent about it. Plus, there were enough of us that could vouch for him in numerous other situations. I've been pretty bad about turnaround with that stuff, myself, at times. Life gets in the way. But I remember one guy who actually lived pretty close to me that frequented the PIF thread. I noticed he was claiming a lot and offering nothing except the occasional unclaimed $1 bin item. I said one thing about it and he completely vanished forever. Ironically, where Ghost stayed and communicated, others have completely ghosted.
The optics are not great when you disappear rather than address concerns and even worse when you're defensive toward the people that feel you have wronged them. Even if I felt like I was being falsely accused and decided I was done with the lot of you, I'd make my statement on the way out. Then again, I'm dramatic that way.
I guess my point (if I have one) is that, although he's not here to defend himself, he could have been. He chose not to be. He was more than happy to keep claiming and selling things, while knowingly not following through.
That feels like a lack of respect for this entire community to me. He could still send those records even now, but my guess is that he hasn't and won't. Plus, I wouldn't want @tvham, or whoever initiated whatever brought everything to light, to feel bad about what came of it. They had every right to speak up. It helped a lot of others realize they weren't alone and prevented even more from being duped in the future. We self regulate here. It's an unfortunate situation all around, but I like seeing people care about this place and how it's affected.
