He was a friendly internet figure. Usually if someone is here to take advantage, their demeanor outs them. Basically, his internet etiquette was very cordial, so it would be incredibly strange to just claim like 1 or 2 albums a quarter.

It was weird and unexpected when this all went down. He appeared to be a super nice guy. I used to DM with him about organ jazz and he would drop me various high res audio files. He was helping Doug with the Paladin Club too. Then all this happened with him never sending out any of his offers and just disappearing.... as you said like Jimmy Hoffa.

Come to think of it, which of you guys encased him in Giants stadium? Hummm....

He got grumpy with me the one time I claimed something from him but he claimed to have just had hernia surgery and he did eventually send off the album like 3 months later. I had to bug him incessantly for the final month to finally get the album mailed out. I would still allow him to claim from me but I stopped claiming from him after that first and only time just because it was such a pain in the ass.

I still don’t think he was purposely a con man. I think he was old and immobile and lazy and he allowed shit to snowball and then would get pissy when he was called out on it.

Regardless he shouldn’t have been claiming new albums.

I think he was definitely shady. He kept taking subtle jabs at me until I called him out for it directly. Then others rushed in with the toxic positivity, because I spoke up about it. Eventually, he was exposed and bounced. That's that for me

I'm not in the business of building cases to justify the actions of people who worked others over. Everyone has a right to be pissed off or disappointed or feel nothing at all. It's all valid, but they have the right to feel it

How many people did he lie to about sending packages that were "lost in the mail?" That's not an accident.

Yeah, he dropped me some stuff via DM too. A Beverly Glenn Copeland documentary and something else.

I always thought he was a little off, but more in a socially awkward way where he’d cross little boundaries.

I was definitely surprised he was a scammer. Spending hundreds of hours on here and trying get on everyone’s good side only to steal maybe a couple hundred dollars worth of records people were literally giving away has to be one of the world’s strangest long cons.

Oh no doubt. I hope it didn’t come off as I was defending him. I definitely wasn’t. I think he was negligent. I was just saying I don’t he showed up here I thought he was going to take advantage of the community. I think he got in too deep and shady people do shady things.
