Online Vinyl Deals

Also on the brick and mortar v online debate, it’s simple for me:

I can’t get an original pressing of In a Silent Way at SoV/UD and I can’t get a $13 BNC at my local, so I try to buy during these bonkers sales so I have more funds to spend on used gets or fun imports at my local.
Yup and most locals make most of their $$$ on used records anyhow. New stuff has super thin profit margins.

Amazon is slowly matching the 50% off UMG titles, and some of these also have a 30% off Amazon coupon on top, depending upon your region.

Duke Pearson, The Right Touch (Tone Poet) was $14 with the coupon

The Three Sounds and Gene Harris, Live at the It Club (BN Classics) was $9 with the coupon

Kenny Dorham, Inta Somthin' (Tone Poet) is $16 with coupon

Jutta Hipp, Hickory House v. 1 (Classic) is $12 with coupon

And I should say I qualify as Mid-Atlantic for my location, so yours will differ if you're in another region

annoyingly, the coupons are geo-locked depending on where you are located. neither of those have additional coupons for me but others did (like Herbie Hancock - Speak Like a Child BNC for $10.60 shipped.

Good shout on the Hancock, got that and the Cannonball/Evans OJC for ~$34 shipped. Gonna turn around and sell my older black B copy of Speak Like a Child to basically pay for these.

An Acoustic Sounds Series title with the 30% off. Comes to $13 and change:

Gerry Mulligan Meets Ben Webster (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series) [LP] https://a.co/d/f5UjlgR

not points actually… in past times you could redeem the 500 signup points for a $5 gift card, rather than applying the points towards a sale directly. these gift cards were fungible the same as any other gift card would be, unlike rewards points. i finally spent the last of these cards yesterday
they switched to points instead of giftcards so that people wouldn't game the system

27 physical discs, $365 — even with accidentally having a full price tone post in there (doh!)

Huh, quick question: anyone ever have success with cancelling one item in an order from SoV? Does their customer services respond?

I cancelled 2 preorder discs in an order with 4 albums; they returned the money and shipped the discs anyway.
