December Nights in Balboa Park last night.

Every year as Christmas approaches, downtown Monterey has these wooden painted angels on the historic buildings, in a tradition that goes back to the 1950s... these are just a few I saw while walking to eat lunch today:

Looks almost like Godzilla is a permanent fixture and they just stuck a Santa hat on him

not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this but I live on a winery. Every year they drape the vines in Christmas lights, and it’s looking really beautiful in the first snow of the season
