NPR / Public Radio Boston was just talking how middle class wages under Biden are down 20%. And with inflation and things costing more than ever people are really hurting. The high interest rates don't help either.
Things definitely felt better under Trump.
This statistic does not surprise me at all, as I have posted articles that said as much here within the last couple months. The power has shifted back from employees to the employers. Just recently I posted an article called "The days for overpaying for talent are over".
While these decreases in salaries first started appearing in the tech industry within the last 2 to 3 years, this year it has moved to the blue collar jobs including construction. People searching for a new job just simply can not find anything offering the salaries they were just a couple years ago. On average it's 20% less now.
This really isn't affecting people who are still at the same job, unless they were given the option to be laid off or take a pay cut like my aunt was last Christmas. But for those who have been laid off or are looking for work right now this is very much a real issue.
