but that’s always been the goal. One of the major tenets of the GOP is that the government doesn’t work so when they gain power they do their best to dismantle from within. Then when everything goes to shit they can say, “see, the government doesn’t work”. It’s part of their grift.
They want to burn it all down. And, they may very well succeed.

What’s the endgame, a country with disparate laws and no means to enact anything? If they burn it down, how are they going to stay wealthy, legitimately don’t understand the thinking.

She’s a mean old bag in the vain of McConnell so it’s hard to feel sorry for her. Plus she’s 81, she has no business being in Congress at this point and that goes for Pelosi too.

They have always wanted smaller government… ever since the tea party morphed into the MAGA cult, it’s been do away with it. Deregulate everything. The rich figure they’ll get to be robber barons. I’d say it wouldn’t work but these folks are also all for police getting a purge day.

I think a lot of it has to do with capitalism. They believe in free markets. They have a thought that without regulation, the free markets will guide everything and run smoother.

It will enrich the capitalist class and further put everyone else in poverty though. But they don't care. Not to mention greed will lead corporations destroying the planet and harming lives in the name of profits. Because restricting their potential profits with regulations is "unfair".

The problem is this is the first time in history where we’ve had this level of income disparity without revolution. The poor have been drugged by the distracting scraps from the technological revolution. You continue to push them down and eventually the pressure will cause an explosion.

In modern times though it would really be hard to get a revolution started. Any body people thinking about starting one will be cracked down on and it will be put to a stop before anything can happen. Just like post United Healthcare CEO murder, we are arresting people and charging them with domestic terrorisms if they make a non credible threat against the insurance company. Make an example out of them and give them the book. America loves to lock people up. We hold more people in prison than any other developed country per capita.

It would really take a large explosive event or disaster to allow anything meaningful from happening.

With that said, the most likely thing I can think of happening in the United States is states leaving the union. Not a true revolution.

Yes but I’m not talking about an October revolution, mass civil disobedience and economic chaos are much more likely. If the government isn’t willing to release the pressure value it will eventually have to blow.
