Political Discussion

Considering how dependent Alabama is on federal funds, which CA is a big contributor to, maybe he should shut the fuck up.

I’m listening to the newest episode of Pod Save America rn and the first segment is all about this and my blood is fucking boiling! If a democrat like AOC said something like this about a red state it would be the end of her career but republican fuckers can say and do whatever they want with no consequences. I just have no idea how dems can compete in this fucked up political/media environment

The amount of shit repubs can say without any repercussions is maddening. But dems have to choose their words carefully so as not to offend anyone.

I thought about asking y’all what you think of this guy last night. I enjoyed the fuck out of this interview.

I texted a good friend right after watching it last night to praise Carney's performance. He was playful and smart in all the right ways. I don't love the Liberal party, but I think he's a great candidate, especially being a non-lifelong politician. According to reports he has the backing of at least 30 party MPs already without having officially announced, which is a good start. He's also spoken more directly and truthfully to the financial crisis impacting most Canadians than nearly any polititan currently in office.

I do worry about the headwinds Jon mentioned a couple of times, because I still feel like we are looking toward a Conservative landslide. That said, I think Carney has a better chance than almost anyone at regaining lost ground for the Liberals.

Anybody familiar with the Podcast Blowback? It's a leftist podcast on the fuckery that surrounds and leads up to conflicts in the US. First season is on the Iraq War, second on Cuba, third Korea, fourth Afghanistan, and the fifth, and latest, on Cambodia.

I'm a little over halfway on the 1st season, and shit is infuriating, but incredibly informative. Makes you never want to believe anything the goverment or press say again.
