What’s the point? They weren’t going to get a conviction. They have already tried the case in the court of public opinion.

Now is time to get some bills rolling. They only have time till the midterms to convince the moderates and carve off the independents. they need to get those aid bills out, vaccine distribution, and schools opened up.

The argument to me would have been open revelation of more information and cementing placement in the public. Republicans have shown how effective a cult of personality and demagoguery can be and Dems had a chance at the bully pulpit here. It’s also quite arguably important enough to say it’s a loss worth pursuing.
With that said, 57 is about 5 higher than I thought we’d get. Hard to say how witnesses affect that

A couple more days would not cement public opinion. People that could have been convinced for a while now. His approval rating was pretty steady his whole presidency. Things like this only move it marginally.

Its time for the Dems to get to work!

Without a doubt, I'm just hoping that just this one time karma bitch slaps a "people like him". Honestly though, he wore me out on politics, how a lot of people truly feel in this country and so on. While I'll always pay some attention to the politics at hand and more so locally as it effects me, I'm pretty much done making politics my first order of business when I wake up..........it's been exhausting and I have better things to do. Again, hopefully the mystical powers that be will see it clear to give him what he deserves.
