rage and vomit reacts only.

garbage behavior from a garbage man. I think I need to pause this thread til this news story and joke tweets subside... or until my anger quits catching in my throat everytime I read a headline?

wave of local elections coming in the US- please make sure you are registered/address updated/yadda yadda. especially if you are in a cold-ass state like Texas that needs a physical form at the registrar one month out.

Gaetz is a shitty excuse of a human being. The tweet made me chuckle as well, sorry it was in poor taste. I should have known better.

EDIT: I deleted the post 😊

Gaetz, Carlson & Nevaro..............they all disgust me, but I did enjoy the monolog, and Tucker bailing on Gaetz, lol

.........and Tucker stating "Weirdest interview he's ever conducted" is rich, lol

I do have to say, Tucker's face when Gaetz tried to equate his charges with Tucker's allegation 10 years ago, was priceless. What a sleaze bag.

Volkswagen is in some serious hot water.

They pulled an April Fools joke, like many companies do. But it backfired in spectacular fashion for Volkswagen.

The coincide with the release of a new electric car, Volkswagen posted a press release stating that the company was changing its name to "Voltswagen". The press release was all in good fun and intended to be a April fools' day prank.

But a couple things went wrong.

First, the press release hit prematurely. It went live earlier this week for a couple hours before being taken down. And every news agency picked it up like it was real news.

Secondly, investors are saying this stunt violates US Security Laws for misleading investors. And they are suing.

Investors take on this is a company the size of Volkswagen should not be partaking in April Fools' Day pranks. They have a responsibility to investors.

Honestly, the comical part of all this is that while I may support one "politician" over another, let's not kid ourselves into thinking that they all don't have at least one skeleton in their closet..............some just have a graveyard ;)
And let's not forget recent events have taught us if you are a Republican, and have a graveyard in your closet, to voters and other republicans you are still the better option than a Democrat.

Meanwhile they call for every Democrat with a single skeleton to resign.

Meanwhile they call for every Democrat with a single skeleton to resign.
But the Democrats are doing this to themselves.
While I agree that people should be held accountable for their actions, the democrats have made this into only what I can describe as a game of deprecation where they fling memes and snark as political currency. It works well for the individual, but it makes the democratic party as a whole look like they are too busy fighting each other to worry about much else.

Yes & no. I agree that it's dumb to believe that Volkswagen is renaming itself to Voltswagen. But that argument is also what provides Elon Musk cover to say things like "Gee, I was just joking, I wasn't manipulating the market with my tweets."

Coming up with a coherent, consistent approach to how corporations (or their figureheads) behave online is something we should be thinking about -- even if it's a stupid example that puts it in the spotlight.

I get where you’re coming from but nuance has to come into everything. This is really dumb and those investors are a joke. If we can’t both condemn. and if necessary prosecute, the behaviour of rogue CEOs and corporations whilst equally treating something like this as the nonsense that it is then we are even more lost than I thought when I made the post that you replied to.

My deepest hope is Elon launched himself into space on a Tesla and never comes back.

Why are these laws that are a step backwards always named like they are making progress and we are moving forward.

This law was called "Medical Ethics & Diversity". Yet it is anything but that. It contains many unethical things as well as a step backwards in diversity.

The law allows a wide range of health care workers -- doctors, pharmacists and even insurance companies -- to refuse to provide non-emergency healthcare based on personal "moral" objections.

The most obvious damage this law will cause for the people of Arkansas will be to limit access to certain treatments that have become politicized. This will likely include things like gender-affirming surgeries or medications for transgender people and abortion care. Of note, the state legislature also just passed a law that would explicitly outlaw gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth, despite opposition from major medical organizations and data linking gender-affirming care to lower odds of transgender people considering suicide. That bill is awaiting the governor's signature.
