I can’t believe that 12 people would decide to acquit. I could see a hung jury if a closeted MAGA moron or two managed to slip through but I can’t imagine a dozen people think he wasn’t in on this scheme. As others have said, it’ll be a slap on the wrist as with most white collar crimes but still having a literal felon running for president is quite a thing.

We at least know it's not a hung jury now. Since they said they reached a verdict it can't be that.

I do not agree thIs is a "horrible idea" as limited time as an elected official limits the damage they can do. Relying on the voting population to "vote them out" clearly doesn't work as the incumbents have a massive advantage at the polls.
Consider this - the whole conversation about Trump or Biden would not be taking place if they were limited to one 6 year term. No one would be concerned about which "jackass" was getting re-elected....... Trump can't shut up and Biden can't recall if he's President or Vice President. Having two different choices would be so refreshing!
We will likely never get to know as the chances of it happening are astronomically small.
So for the president, a limit of two years less service than the actual current limit, but with no mechanism to change it after four years (like there is now)? The dilemma you're describing is because the American two-party system is inherently broken and anti-democratic, not because of a lack of term limits.
