Pre-Order Thread

B&N exclusive variants of Lush Life and Cookin'

I think I liked the white one the best but I bought the black one and am very ok with it.

Looks like the clear Stereolab reissues are up for preorder at Port of Sound

The fact that these are still available for preorder now makes me concerned that I will eventually be getting a cancellation email...

Maybe, but if you look on discogs at the previous clear releases. They aren’t necessarily hard to come by, at or about suggested retail. If I recall total numbers wise, there were equal numbers of the clear and black copies pressed. (At least of the last batch of reissues 2500 clear and 2500 black, I think). I mean, D&L and ETK are probably their most desirable albums by and large but still think there will be plenty to go around.

I was annoyed that I paid extra to preorder the last batch from Bleep and just got the standard clear version which was widely available upon release. Great reissues though.

As I understand it. The limited to 500 copies on clear with the obi are only available from Duophonic. That has always been the case. Indie retailers get the limited clear version which is limited to 2,500. That is a lot of copies and why they tend to be available at stores on release day. Port of Sound saying they are limited to 500 seems like incorrect information on their part.

Did they give you a reason you did not get the OBIs/numbered clear versions? I ordered the last set through them as well, but had already chosen the black vinyl (OBI versions were sold out). Only problem I had was a few week delay due to not enough stock.

It was my understanding the 500 obi-strip copies were only available directly from duophonic but there was another 2,000 clear copies available from different stores (on top of the 2,500 black non Obi-strip copies). I could be wrong though.

Oh sorry, I think I was conflating the Bleep store and Duophonic as the same thing. I thought they meant they ordered OBI vers from Duo and got just clear. I ordered from Duo last time, where there was the delay. Duo this time too but ordered the OBI vers of Dots & ETK. Just wondering if they ever give ya the business there.
