Pre-Order Thread

Word to the wise. I had no idea this was frowned upon or a micro-aggression of sorts until a Native American woman at my work presented on some common ways people appropriate their culture with phrases (low on the totem pole also one)

Thank you for pointing this out to me! I will avoid using those terms in the future
You all are evidently not watching the Morning Show. There's a whole "spirit animal" incident/controversy in season 2. I don't watch too much television (two kids under 4), but I'd recommend this series.

Shadows Collide With People, Curtains, The Will To Death, Ataxia 1, To Record Only Water For Ten Days, The Empyrean, DC EP, Inside Of Emptiness... in no particular order are some of my favorites from Frusciante.

I feel like Shadows, Curtains, or The Will To Death are good starting points as some of his albums can get weird and abstract, and quite frankly hard to listen to especially as an introduction.

Shadows is easily my favorite. Wish they would reissue that one on vinyl.

I've never checked out Frusciante's solo career. Is there anything I should listen to immediately?
YES! I like RHCP fine enough but Frusciante’s has some amazing solo albums. Curtains and The Empyrean I think we’re recently repressed and both are quite good. I am hoping Shadows Collide With People and To Record Only Water For Ten Days both get repressed at some point. Knowing your penchant for Indie rock, I think you’ll quite enjoy these in particular. He has a lot of very diverse albums of varying quality but I love that he is willing to follow his muse wherever it takes him.

The 4 albums mentioned here are definitely my recommended John solo material too. Everything else is a little too "out there" or electro-beat for my tastes.
