Pre-Order Thread

This is such a dumb product. Tool obviously does not care for vinyl as a medium for listening to music. It’s a solid album (maybe my favorite from them?) but not worth even half of that amount. I’d pay $55 tops.

Hopefully they will eventually have other options but don't expect it anytime soon.

Not to much different than the Classic Single Sided 45rpms in their day. I don't mind the premium price in this case so much. I just hope they follow the $$$ up with a truly premium pressing.

Yeah, Toob albums seem to be catering to the merch collector, not to anyone who listens to the actual thing. They’re neat to look at as art, but listening seems to be the second tier.

I'll add, $132 seems like a fair price. The box set and art appears to be very well done. The single sided discs are silly, but the album is nearly 80 minutes long, so hopefully it's sequenced properly across the records. At the above price, I don't feel taken or ripped off, just crossing my fingers the records come out of Pallas, RTI, RI, or Optimal and not GZ. Though I have a hunch it'll be the latter given the pressing quantity.

$132 + tax is a great price. Hopefully Amazon will not just slap a mailing label on the outer shrink wrap like they once did with my Rent Box set and will instead ship in their standard oversized under protected light weight recycled cardboard box. :-)

Considering how they’ve handled Lateralus over the past 20+ years, I’m not holding out hope.

If you are a collector, sure. If you just want to listen to music, $132 is a ridiculous price for a single album.
