Reading some posts in here that seem like they should be in the hot takes thread tbh! So let's set the record straight now that Arctic Monkeys rule and haven't made a bad album yet. Of course they don't still sound like they did in the MySpace days fifteen years later, I have no clue why anyone would wish remaking your debut album over and over on a band, but that sounds absolutely miserable to me. I say if AM want to be indulgent then let them. The fact they aren't averse to taking chances and reinventing their sound is part of what draws me to their music so much.
That first Mason Jennings album is so fantastic. All his stuff is, really, but I wore out that CD in my old Toyota Corolla on the frozen streets of Minneapolis back in the day. Was just thinking this morning of writing Bandbox to try to convince them to do a pressing. Great (and creepy) timing!
Just because some enjoy their first album the best doesn’t mean we want them to make the same album over and over. They did that already and it’s great.I have no clue why anyone would wish remaking your debut album over and over
I really love his first album too. Haven’t really thought of him much recently though. I think I checked once on Discogs and it’s never been pressed to wax. I would sign up for Bandbox for that one. That first Mason Jennings album is so fantastic. And here I am just waiting for another Last Shadow Puppets album…100% agree. It feels like the general consensus is everyone likes the early records but AM is probably my favorite and I was a fan from the beginning.
We are very different people.Spoon and Arctic Monkeys might as well be the same band to me.

Scooby Doo but with a dune buggy or Jabber Jaw but on land. Hanna-Barbera really knew how to milk a concept.
I miss USA’s Cartoon Express.

I don't hate it. Not that I think they sound the same, but I'd put them both in the same pile of bands that I consistently like, but aren't high up in bands I get excited about. I definitely couldn't tell you which one I like better.Spoon and Arctic Monkeys might as well be the same band to me.
