It's sad because it's pricing out people who can't afford it, and pricing out people who refuse to spend $50, and pricing out musical discovery. I used to take a flyer on an album at 20-25, but not anymore.

When a album is $30 and shipping is at least $7 I have to think about if I really want the album or not especially if its a single lp. 2 lp albums should be no more than $35 or $40. Vinyl prices going up is making me decide not to get certain albums or just get standard black version on amazon. I'm going to order the boygenius album from target as the other variants are really overpriced for a single lp.

It's not that I can't spend $40 for a single album but since I have a limited budget to spend on albums I'd rather spend less and be able to afford 2 albums instead of just one. I wish vinyl would become more affordable. I'm afraid I'll have to give up the hobby at some point because of everything becoming too expensive.
