The kid who played Angus and his friend (the redhead who later became the Shermanator) came to my middle school right around when the movie came out. I have no idea why they came at this point, but I have a signed photo somewhere.
I watched the movie again recently and was surprised at how well it aged compared to other similar movies.

Fuck man, I just rewatched it. Probably the first time in 20 years and besides George C Scott and Kathy Bates. I didn’t realize they had freakin’ Rita Moreno in a throwaway comedic part as the dance instructor. I think she had maybe a single line in the whole scene. Also, completely forgot that James Van Der Beek played the asshole QB before playing the white knight QB in Varsity Blues.

So many kid shows I watched when I was a kid I either understood they were terrible to begin with or they don’t hold up when revisited as an adult. The Adventures of Pete and Pete was a show made for kids but has somehow become even better when I watch it as an adult.

Tiny gripe: my shipment of The Organ records from 604 charged $20 for shipping but used UPS Standard. Package is still on the west coast despite being picked up 8/26. I don’t mind waiting for the package but when you charge $20 shipping it’s pretty gross to use the cheapest and slowest option available.
