Pre-Order Thread

I haven’t bought anything! My last preorder was made in December for a Psychic Hotline release. I may head into the local this week eying the new Weather Station and Lambrini Girls. I intend to spend more money with them this year and less on shipping.
My weather station album from rough trade shipped today. The only other preorders I'm considering right now is the upcoming spellling, sharon van etten and the attachment theory, nadia reid, deep sea diver, flora hibberd, ethel cain and bria salema albums.

It’s a mixture of a lot of things. I really am bound by a budget moving forward… so I need to be more thoughtful of what I spend my ducks on. I also have four cubes of stuff I haven’t listened to. I have at least 50 7 inch records I haven’t even cleaned. The Kelly Finnigan album from last year, that I love, I got a fancy version, cool. I needed another mat like I needed a hole in my head. I didn’t need another 45 adaptor. I definitely don’t need a grinder. I don’t need a signed photo. The seven is with that 50 or so uncleaned. I’m constantly trying to play through what I haven’t listened to let or haven’t given thoughtful consideration to and not listening to what I want to. I’m reorganizing my CDs so they take up less room and I can find what I want when I want. So I’m looking at the thousands of these things that I don’t listen to. When I do have the chance to a-b something (usually because of the generator thread… ) I find that the vinyl usually beats the cd and the cd surprisingly often beats Qobuz - and I’m using the same dac so it’s the information not the output. It’s made me question what the fuck I’m doing. I have the first two Noble record releases and will probably keep getting them and I just get the black because I have and will have enough crazy looking vinyl I don’t look at across the room in my chair. Between never listening to stuff because of the back log and headphones, almost everything sounds like I’m listening to it for the first time. Hell it’s been less than a month since I figured out that my amp has a fucking mono switch…

I also spent most of my gift cards and Christmas money filling holes in discography runs. So I have very few projects left.

So yeah, getting every new release is not a big concern right now and I don’t care what version I have any more as long as it sounds good.

I generally am not super concerned about variants as long as its not a boring clear, coke bottle clear or white or theres a pretty limited variant that I really want. I only get things that I know i'll listen to over things that I probably would never listen to more than a few times.

I mean I do too, but I’ve just reached a critical mass and at this point I have stuff I bought before the pandemic that hasn’t been listened to. Maybe I should wait till the tenth anniversary reissue to buy things?

I will say that for folks that aren’t super into 45RPM records the one nice thing about this reissue is it appears to be a single disc 33 1/3 edition instead. Thinking this might be a pocket sleeve instead of a gatefold as well.
Yes on the 1xLP, though this release also looks to be a gatefold. The standard colored variant will be widely available.

When customers don't get what they ordered and paid for after a 2 year wait, they historically filed with the BBB or went after the seller in other ways. Somehow, VMP keeps stiff arming all the jilted customers from ripping them a new one and still has customers.

Yeah last year I had to calm down a lot because my backlog of 50 odd was stressing my out and I have a 2 listen and file rule lol.

I love and respect the listens before filing situation but I definitely have all but this week's arrivals filed, whether I've listened to them or not.
