Pre-Order Thread

Worst news I've heard all day. But good for the people who like Deafheaven. I really liked Infinite Granite....but probably for all of the reasons Deafheaven fans hated it.
I had to kind of train myself to hear the vocals as an extenuation of the instrumentation, then it started to blend better. Versus what others may hear as the vocals distracting from the instrumentation

I had a weird inverse of that. I’m mostly right handed, but my cousin who taught me to play hockey was a lefty, so I played LH for a long time until someone pointed it out. Now I can play both (equally badly), but I’m a better shooter on my left, passer on my right.
A lot of hockey players that shoot lefty are right handed people and vice-versa. And, Phil Mickelson is a right handed person but golfs lefty.
I likely learned from neighborhood friends, as far as batting, golf grips and hockey shots. My dad was mostly-absent and a non-sports guy so I didn't get much in that department.

I'm very much right handed and for some reason I shoot a hockey stick left handed. (I mean... I would if I had played hockey sometime in the last 20 years.)

Same regarding my dad for the most part, at least the part about being mostly absent. He was an excellent pitcher but the few times I saw him each year he would usually attempt to play/practice sports with us but would usually get super frustrated and storm off after 20 minutes when I failed to immediately play like the second coming of Willie Mays as an 8 year old. Beyond that it was mostly peanut league sports coaches that taught me technique and I think they enjoyed the challenge of teaching a south paw.

I'm not a huge fan of screaming vocals so I was excited for Infinite Granite and it just didn't do it for me. The vocals just felt off or maybe it exposed something I didn't vibe with in the songwriting. I also saw them live during that tour and found the singer obnoxious in general. I think what I'm saying is maybe I would best appreciate an instrumental album because I love the guitar playing so much.
I will try and explain this to my wife and kids when they're yelling at me to turn it off.

I'm not a Goose fan, but it's crazy how they've tapped Brian Blomerth to do all this new artwork for them. I originally discovered Brian through work he did for his friend, Lil Ugly Mane.

I also recently interviewed Blomerth to promote his graphic novel Lilly Wave. It's about ketamine researcher, John C. Lilly, who invented the sensory deprivation tank and pioneered studies on dolphin communication.

If you like his artwork, it's worth picking up.
