I’d be curious how this compares to an ultrasonic. I have a VPI vacuum record cleaner and it worked well, but the Humminguru is better IMO for a few reasons. It’s more automated (fill the tank, put record in, press a button and come back in 10 min or so). And I’ve actually heard improved dynamics on some records afterwards. Can’t say I ever experienced that with the VPI. For really filthy records, I still use the VPI first but I really prefer the HG over it. I think it was cheaper than the VPI tooIt might also be worth checking out the Project VC-S2.
A few of us Brits bought them a few years ago when an eBay seller had a really good discount on them and I have to say that it's been one of my best record-gear related purchases. Really simple to use, very sturdy, and the results are fantastic. The only change I have made is to buy a 50p squeeze bottle with a spout (like a cafe/diner sauce bottle) to apply the liquid in a more controlled way.
