You can always embrace the filth like me (preferably with different needles based on whether the record is relatively clean or visibly dirty).

To be clear, I do use a primitive liquid + brush method. So I guess it’d be more like Embrace the Relative Filth, which is not nearly as catchy… but works well on my mid-fi system.Embrace the Filth is the name of my new Sex Pistols cover band.
That’s why I got a Humminguru. It’s an expensive solution to the problem, but an effective one nonetheless.
The VPI is twice the price of the Humminguru now. And, the Humminguru is automatic, so no having to “queue” records to get them all cleaned in a batch. The Humminguru has gotten me to listen to records more frequently, not less.Been a few years but my vpi 16.5 was about the same price as that. Definitely options in that price range

Agree - I walk away until the record is clean on the ‘Guru................but the Humminguru does take longer. VPI, clean album to platter in 2 minutes
Neither do I, but it is nice to clean an album on the fly if it's been a while since it's last cleaning and needs a "touch up"But, I don’t wait until right before I want to play a record to clean it.
Truth be told - I’m cleaning a new Blue Note Classic, on the fly, right now, before I’m about to play it.Neither do I, but it is nice to clean an album on the fly if it's been a while since it's last cleaning and needs a "touch up"
I have a less advanced indicator that I think I copied from someone on N&G.I have a custom field in Discogs to track whether I've run any given record through the Humminguru. I've run all my newly-acquired records through it since it arrived, but when I pull out older records I sometimes find myself putting them through a 2-minute wash cycle just to be able to check that box.
You can shoot it my way. May as well throw a few in there. Just PM me.Are there any West Coast or close enough guru owners who I could send a record to for cleaning?

if it’s anything like Titanic Rising it might be the pressingThanks! I have Weyes Bloods latest and I gave it a couple of cleanings with my VPI and I’m curious to see if the Guru can get a little deeper or if it’s a pressing defect.
