Record cleaning - what's your method?

The MoFi was basically just distilled water anyway. I like the first rinse because it usually helps the cleaning step out but it's not totally necessarry. For new records I usually skip it but for used stuff it's a nice way to start from scratch

Anyone use anything other than distilled water as a first rinse? I was using some MoFi liquid that came in a bundle as my first step just to get the bulk of the dry debris off, before a AI6 clean and a final distilled water rinse. Now using the DW after running out of the MoFi. Is there any need to get a pre-clean/rinse of any kind? Using a VPI 16.5

I don't rinse anything. Just one application of christo with a vpi 16.5

Just purchased the VEVOR ultrasonic. Does anyone here have it and can they offer tips?
What cleaning solution should I use? I still have a big ole bottle of my spin clean’s solution!

Clever little feature of my US cleaner.
The spindle that rotates records through the bath can be used sideways to hand clean records sitting on the countertop.

Also makes it easy to rinse the record under the faucet without getting the center label wet.

Older records I hand wash on this spindle prior to going through the US tank. Newer records, I just faucet rinse before going through the US tank.

Seeing as the Vevor was a dud and I’m hesitant on buying another one, any thoughts on the Record Doctor V ?

I see that Vevor themselves have it much cheaper on their website think I have a better shot this time?

I have a Record Doctor V. It does the job with a minimum of fuss, but it is quite loud. I found that technique matters quite a bit to get best results - fewer, slower turns versus more, faster turns works best.

But, after I purchased a Humminguru, I found that it removed dirt deep in the groove that the Record Doctor could not.

Thank you for the input!

I am still looking at the pros and the cons. With the Hummingguru I know it dries for you, but if I were to go for the Vevor I know that I would have to air dry which would attract more dust no?

I am trying to look at longevity for my records and I have been putting off getting a better cleaner than my spinclean for a while!

I bought the new HG and very happy. All my albums already cleaned with spinclean and once run through HG...there is definite improvement.
