Record Store Day 2022

Wasn't aware their was a repress to be honest. Discogs doesn't show one but some guy in the comments said he got back in 2019.

Yah, I think it may have been a different color? I forget the exact details. But I believe I got an email about it being repressed. And I was like, COOL, I gotta remember to buy that! Then some time went by, and I was somehow reminded, and by the time I returned to purchase it was sold out.

Considering all the discounted overstock I’ve seen of past titles I’ve bought for full retail the last few RSDs, I’m probably sitting this one out. BUT…the Jazz Dispensary titles are usually hard to find for retail after RSD yes? Or should I just cop online on Sunday?

It's looking like online RSD purchasing opportunities that arose during the pandemic have all but disappeared? Every shop I've checked out won't be putting stuff online until Sunday or Monday. Any exceptions to this rule any of you are aware of? Might be built into RSD 'rules,' but it sure was nice to be able to shop RSD without leaving the house to wait in a line.
Looks like earliest (in US anyway) will be 8AM on Sunday per this Newbury email (though I would definitely shop at better indie stores, who don't mark up RSD releases, if they also open up at 8AM online):

Select Record Store Day titles will be available online on
NewburyComics.com - Sunday 4/24 @ 8am ET!

Given the caveat we have no idea, I feel like Jazz Dispensary titles don't tend to end up discounted often - if there were on my list I'd try to grab one if I saw it without playing too many games.

Finalizing my list, there's a few I'm not playing the waiting game on and a few I am. This feels like a tough year to anticipate outside of a handful of titles in terms of demand levels so I am (hoping) we might see some surprises hit the overstock trail at some point.

I could possibly help you out…I’ll be heading down somewhere tomorrow morning …I’ll shoot you a text
Thanks dude! I've got a sick kid and a laundry list of home chores from the boss so my time is limited...

I'm sure the DLOT I can track down at Plaid Room later but the Weyes Blood might be tricky.

Shoot me a picture of what weyes blood looks like on a text and I will try my best to grab it

Yea I didn't think there was ever a repress either, but that discogs comment does make it sound like there was. Wonder if they have any different markings though I assume mine is from the original 1000 if the repress was from just a few years ago. Either way, I'm grabbing the rsd one as well.

The few I’m interested in don’t seem like they’re hot ticket items (Roy Ayers, Pharaohs, Joss Stone) and honestly I wouldn’t be torn up if I missed out on them either. I’d like that Jazz Dispensary though. The Corrine Bailey Rae is the only other one I really want but I have no idea with that one. Original pressings are priced ridiculously, but this is a 3000 unit pressing and I don’t know what the actual demand is going to be. There have been past RSD titles in the same genre with scarce originals that I thought would be hot, but I constantly see discounted overstock for them since.

Not really down to line up tomorrow, so I may just drop by a couple places later in the day, and try my luck online Sunday if I strike out.

For those looking for help finding RSD releases tomorrow a new thread was set up…

…In the past people who aren’t able to make it out and/or looking to find an elusive item have posted a list along with an image of the albums they are looking for. The most important thing is when a poster obtains a copy that they update their initial post so multiple people don’t end up purchasing superfluous extras.
