Record Store Day 2022

Apologies for my previous post which was incorrect. Correction...
@Plaid Room / Colemine is showing 20+ copies of Art Pepper, Both Bill Evan's, and Delvon Lamarr RSD's being available Sunday at 8 a.m. ET. on their website.

Good luck if you need one.
Yeah, the prices on those Bill Evans discs will have me waiting for the CD releases later next month, but I will be hitting up Plaid Room for Delvon Lamarr tomorrow AM!

The owner of a local store told me today that DLO3 played in my town just 10 days ago on a Monday night and burned down the house to an audience of only about 50 people. Publicity agent should have been shot with paint balls over that! That audience could have been 10x with just a little effort.

Only one actual RSD release. The rest were New Used bin items. Good haul.

What’s the Doors box priced at? I thought it was something like $80 for 4 lps?
It was at least $90 at newbury and as someone who likes but doesn’t love the doors, I was a bit taken aback by the price. The dead box was $149 I think. I know Newbury is one of the more expensive shops for RSD but the only place that’s close to me now. I did learn that there’s another local shop that participates now though so may go there next time..

See Jazz Messengers in Barcelona. They usually add leftovers the next day and shipping is cheap.
I put an alert on and they just put some copies up for sale so I nabbed one.

Cheers as always @Skalap, I now have everything I wanted from RSD this year!

Edit: Also worth noting it was a chunk of change cheaper than what the shops here were selling it for, plus free postage. Win Win.

I just received their newsletter and was coming to share the link. Glad you could grab one copy! Here it is if someone else is looking for RSD Jazz releases:

Maybe it was just Newbury comics, but I thought so much stuff was wildly overpriced this year. Seemed like nearly every 2LP was $50+
My store had most things between $35-$45. They are a very small outfit and I like to support them because we have no other record stores this side of the lake. And the people that run it are really nice—husband wife duo runs the store. They usually also have a 50% off all used stock on RSD. I grabbed a couple J-jazz titles from the 80’s and a punk record that I took a flyer on—and I am so glad because that one is fun.

I have the BAM press from 2015. I was going to grab a copy for any legit Sara fan on the board.

But yes, I am interested in what’s in the new RSD package!!

Just opened it up.

The one additional item is a copy of a nice thank you note form Sara, printed sleeve, nothing else new. My pressing is opaque white. It’s very nice overall.

Amazing. I love stores like that. Wish I had one closer to me! Newbury is the closest shop right now.

There was a place in NYC I used to go to that didn’t do RSD titles but instead put out tons of rare and hard to find titles for the day. All were below discogs prices. That was one of my favorite places to go to for RSD

Deep cuts? Top tier Instagram and pug too.

My shop decided not to participate this year. I have a feeling the contract was more in person specific this year and he didn’t feel comfortable enough with the state of the pandemic. I do know that he is also a little peeved about the multiple dates.

Anyhow, virtually pipped by plaid room this morning and snagged DLO3, Durand Jones and the Jeannie C Riley. I decided to pass on the Jazz Dispensary as I don’t listen to them as much as I used to as I have always been an album guy anyhow and they’ve served their purpose thus far to intro me to some music I was unfamiliar with. May pick them up in the future if the track list is more unknown to me.
