Record Store Day 2022

I turned the whole argument around, and decided to only get these two. Yes, pretty steep but especially the FR E.P is such a gem that I figured "to hell with it". So I resisted paying about 35-50 euros each for Beth Orton, Scott Walker, Willie Nelson, Trail of Dead, Blur, Giant Sand, Pearl Jam or Prince (which were some of the other ones I had my eyes on). Will probably end up regret not getting some of them, but my wallet thanks me at the moment at least.
One regret I have is not pulling the trigger on the Taylor Swift 7", now realizing that I could have financed I couple of great records by flipping it at median Discogs value. I held on to it for I long time, but finally decided to leave it. Oh, well!

Were these Beth Orton available? I thought they got delayed and pushed to June 18th.

Central Reservation was available (and still is actually). But Trailer Park seems to have been delayed.

Weird. Both are shown to be released in June, at least in France. Maybe other countries had access to a different listing.

Weird indeed. I can confirm that I held it in my hand on Saturday. It says out of stock at my local store website now too, although I could have sworn it was in stock just a couple of hours ago. Could be that they released it too early, and was supposed to wait? Pearl Jam was pushed back though, no? So I might pick that up in June.

Lot of records seems to have been pushed to June, at least at my local and according to the Disquaire Day website. Maybe they give first dib to UK and US more than to France and other countries. Not a big deal as long as we have better pressings :D

I actually spotted a few others that were supposed to come in June: Most definitely Rob (since I almost picked it up). Maybe also Super Furry Animals and Black Label Society. I I actually think I saw the Ramones box as well.

Well, I'm Swedish, so there goes the "first dib"-theory. We usually get "last to none" dibs here... ;)

Ahahah! Yeah but your local might have bought from a UK distributor and therefore had a few copies available. I suppose my locals bought from a French distributor and it's the reason why they don't have any.

Could be. Although they had quite a few copies of Beth Orton. I'd say at least about 20-30 copies. It was displayed as one of the top releases.

Did anyone find a new artist or album or music that they're digging as a result of the day? I know a lot of this is about collectability or supporting local stores but I always come out of RSD with a handful of new-to-me artists or albums. And yes most of these are very well known by some folks, but that's the beauty of it all

The L'Imperatrice asks got me curious and this is a nice, low-key grooving disco feel. This as well as my next one have been part of my morning soundtrack

The Wallows release was 15k pieces, they're playing sold out venues of thousands of people, so I'm late to this party too but it's a nice mosh of the current day Indie vibes with some older alt rock feelings

I mentioned this third one (Rex Orange County) in another thread and he's been rising pretty recently, but another great vibey album that feels like it could fit in a lot of people's musical wheelhouses

Just noticed that

I love that Rex Orange County album. I have the OG and was surprised that they reissued it since it's still affordable. Need to check out the others! I didn't pick up any albums I wasn't really aware of this time around.

RSD leftovers will go up here at 12EST. Looks like they might have that Bell Biv

Swung by my local about an hour after opening on Saturday. Picked up Pete Townsend, DLO3, and an older RSD Luka Bop Brazilia comp. Picked up the DLO3 on a whim since I've seen them mentioned here, that album cooks!

This version - 2 LP. Spinning it later this afternoon!

very nice. didn't realize it's a different track listing than the album in the RSD box I got in 2019:
