RSD 2020

Also Nathan, The Cars self titled first album is one of the best DEBUT rock/new wave albums ever (in my opinion). I'm willing to bet it might not really be your thing in general. But A LOT of modern music came out of the sounds that they put out on that album. I'm not sure how you are with the Talking Heads: 77 but same era, similar sound, fantastic album. WAY WAY before your time but I think you'd at least appreciate the influence on a lot of current music, even if you didn't necessarily love the album front to back. Give it a listen.
I’ve got Talking Heads 77 and I love spinning that album! That motivates me so much to check out The Cars self-titled tonight! The fact that the genre has a bit of new wave makes me very interested and that it seems to be ahead of its time really interests me too!

Thanks so much for that background info! I have a feeling I’m going to want the MoFi reissue of The Cars now!

You know that I want hem to burn, right?
Yeah, I remember you saying that! 😳😶🤐

I love VMP so much though so I hope they continue doing well, and I have high hopes that their ROTM picks lined up for 2021 will be even better compared to 2020!

I want VMP to stay around forever! But if they don’t.....no big deal! But they’re my absolute favourite!

I'm pretty sure that Reckless is notorious for being Reckless with the stock and overselling/canceling, orders, but if this pans out, there is some really solid stuff in here for cheap

Big L
Curren$y
Dave Pike
Unrighteous Brothers
Hot Rats
Meat Puppets, etc

Hopefully not too notorious 'cause I just (maybe) copped Curren$y from them. We'll see....I actually wasn't going to get anything, but seeing your post I threw it to the wind.

Good looking (whether it works out or not)!

very notorious for cancelling more so than actually receiving the item.hot ticket items have been up on the site at least a couple of hrs. so more than likely already sold out.

So frustrating that I spent years asking for them to press Ladies and Gentleman and Gabor Szabo's Dreams and they wait to do it once I can't rationalize fucking with them anymore, even to get those. I got the Spiritualized, because they sent me a fucked up album and would only offer me credit, which they promised to apply to a membership, so I figured I could get that. Then they didn't apply it and I had to hound them for a refund. Good thing that Szabo still has other pressings floating around. If they ever did Stakes Is High, I'll probably have a melt down.

You know that I want hem to burn, right?

But, back on track......

.....

Here's a link to an increasingly "scarce" RSD title some of you might be looking for

Just like with the Pearl Jam unplugged from a little while back, and all Seattle-centric releases like this, one of my locals pretty much gets all of them

They have Fleetwood Mac y’all

EDIT THEY DID UNTIL I TRIED CHECKING OUT AND IT WAS GONE

Just want to say the Fleetwood Mac RSD Alternate Rumours pressing sounds really good! I really enjoyed spinning it! Not sure if I preferred that release more or the Camille Yarbrough! 💎💎

I’m so happy I’ve got a great pressing of Rumours, and now a great pressing of the Alternate Rumours! ♥️

I'm going to just add one to this list that didn't make the upper pantheon... But, the Feelies. Listen to their first records.

And see Something Wild (Jonathan Demme)

Hmmmm I think I want to take the risk because it’s an amazing release and it’s Kevin Gray mastered, but I also want that Prince Sign O’ The Times Boxset which is going to cost around AUD$400! 😭😭😭

Both seem like real high quality releases though! Bill Evans Some Other Time is Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI, so it’s a no brainer, but the reviews on Discogs make me second guess if I want to grab it! Happy you got a great copy though! It must be an absolute treat spinning! 😍
Yeah, I listened to this again and mine is flat, perfectly quiet and sounds gorgeous. I’m very happy with it.

If anyone is still looking for a copy of the Jimmy Giuffre (a Zev Feldman prod), it looks like it is at:

Really tricky to find here in the UK, I bit the bullet earlier and ordered from a Spanish Discogs store. The record was priced very very well, the shipping bumped it up though. Still, I have heard good reviews so far and you cant really go wrong with Zev Feldman projects.

as expected got my cancellation email for reckless records order already.
Is this Reckless Records in Central London? I didnt realise they even had an online store for RSD items. That's messed up that they would let you buy something they didn't have in stock. Not only does it waste your time but the delay between ordering and finding out means other places will have sold out as well.

What were you after and if I see any copies online I will let you know.
