RSD 2020

That's some bold inference that none of us actually want the thing we're ordering and to imply there's something more noble about jumping through hoops in this circus like we do every RSD. Some people feel like it's worth it to take a chance on something, knowing it's a longshot. Please don't try and twist this into some morality issue, just because you can't or won't try for something.

1. It probably won't work any way
2. It probably won't work anyway
3. If it does work for you, after I Debbie Downered your hope and efforts abd didn'ttry myself, then you are a bad person hurting others

You can twist anything like that, if you really wanted to. "If you pick up a record for someone else, that takes away one copy alotted to someone in my city that may want it." If you buy a record where you only enjoy a song or two, that takes the rest of the songs away from someone that loves the whole thing."

The only risk here is if your funds are frozen and you can't financially swing it -- I can't remember if they charge when you order, or not. It's a personal choice with yourself. It has nothing to do with anyone else.
ok yeah im sorry that i sounded so manipulative like that... i was mostly referring to like if hundreds of people use it and thus bullmoose has like half the copies of a single album or something... i probably just overreacted

its interesting that you seem the be the only person who is hoping to get TDCUT

im surprised not as many people want slob on my knob
Yea I’m surprised more people don’t want it. I can’t wait to hear Slob On My Knob on vinyl. And it’s got the Hypnotize Cash Money which is basically Three 6 Mafia featuring The Hot Boyz.
i also ordered TDCUT as it was one of the main items i wanted for RSD and i know more than a few people who've pre-ordered it also.

I’m on the fence about this one. Obviously it’s a legendary show and one of my favorite Dead years, but I rarely spin Cornell ‘77. I just never feel compelled to spin a full show on vinyl as much as I love them. $120 is a lot to spend on something I’ll maybe play once a year.

I play the Fillmore West Feb 28th 1969. I also bought 3 copies in the Target sale and sold the extra 2 to get my money back. Now it's free. That's how I rationalized/afforded it.

honestly, my own theory is that RSD decided to change the release for drella at the last minute for October. i guess they did it to minimize the amount of records being released on August? i think the mistake was deciding to do this AFTER records were shipped out, so ofc some record shops were going to sell it since they received them among the other RSD releases.

tbh, i said it before on here, but I really do believe that the arrangement of the RSD releases onto the three drops was done v unevenly. The August drop had way too many big names and popular limited releases all at once, whereas I can't even recall a popular Rsd item being released in September or October. what do y'all think?

Nah it’s been in the October list since the beginning. I have it on a hand written piece of paper that id used to plan my purchase on the day they announced the three drops.

I know for me pretty much everything I wanted (Gorillaz, Spacehog, Tyler) or would have been interested in (Denzel, Charli) was released in August. But then again I've not really studied the list for the upcoming drops. I know the Synecdoche, New York soundtrack was in an earlier list but I didn't hear anything about that this month, I assume that's for a future drop? But yeah I agree, I feel like they front-loaded this month for maximum profit, and especially considering how wore out people probably are after this last one, I think pretty much anything in a future drop will stick around in stores for a bit.

I actually think that most of the stuff was already pressed, and a lot of it in stores stock, from the original april, and the first reschedule of June. The stuff for sept is much more likely the COVID delayed pressings.

@Selaws - I grabbed a copy of Ron Carter's Foursight - Stockholm, Vol. 1 from Rough Trade! It's sold out now so I think I grabbed the last or second last copy! I cannot wait to spin it as I really enjoyed the performance whilst streaming it on Spotify! I think it's my favourite jazz RSD drop out of the ones I was interested in, just from the music! The pressing has great reviews too so far! 🙌

I also grabbed Bob James' Once Upon A Time: The Lost 1965 New York Studio Sessions! I really enjoyed the documentary on that one and this released was pressed at RTI, and mastered by Bernie Grundman, so I'm sure it will sound stellar! I can't wait to spin that release too!

@JonnyH - I grabbed Al Green's Green Is Blue from one of my locals! I was amazed and shocked when I heard the track "The Letter" from the album! Notorious B.I.G.'s Long Kiss Goodnight sampled that track! The instrumental at the start of that track is just incredible!

And then the track 'Gotta Find A New World', was a track Ghostface Killah sampled for his classic track 'Iron Maiden'! AMAZING! Even Coolio sampled the song 'Tomorrow's Dream' on his debut album, and the instrumental on that song (Tomorrow's Dream) has a lot of kick yet is buttery smooth!

This is like a great hip-hop soul turntable record! It's worth it alone for those two massive samples; Long Kiss Goodnight and Iron Maiden! Kinda like how Patrice Rushen's Straight From The Heart is so worth is alone for Forget Me Nots & Remind Me alone for the sampling!

I absolutely love Al Green's Green Is Blues! I've listened to the whole album and I am amazed by how great the album is! The instrumentals on that album are so soulful and colourful! It's beautiful and rich!

So much attention is given to his 3 albums; Let's Stay Together, Call Me & I'm Still In Love With You! Even Al Green Explores Your Mind is an album I feel gets much more attention in comparison to Green Is Blues!

I'm so happy RSD decided to give Green Is Blues the audiophile treatment as well as giving it a sweet colour variant! It's going to be perfect spinning it with the VMP pressing of Al Green's "Gets Next To You", as that also seems like it will be an audiophile pressing, being AAA and mastered by Ryan Smith as well as being plated at QRP! And the VMP pressing of Let's Stay Together sounds good too! And of course the VMP pressing for Call Me is excellent! So I'm really happy right now!

We just need a quality pressing for Al Green's I'm Still In Love With You, as the reissue sounds average/a bit flat! It needs the Pure Pleasure treatment like Al Green Explores Your Mind! That pressing sounds great!

😍♥♥♥😄🐒

Long shot, anyone have a lead on the Ron Carter album? Got everything I wanted except for that and the Monk album (not too concerned about missing that since it’s getting repressed). Also, does anyone know if it will see a wider release? I might just have to settle for streaming it...

From what I read, the Ron Carter was “strictly limited.”

Long shot ask, but does anyone have a spare Dogfishhead RSD 2020 poster they would like to get rid of? Other than the records it’s the one thing I love about the day is that poster and I didn’t get one this year. I’ve gotten one every year I’ve gone! I was sad I didn’t get one!
