Day 23 - Give Me Your Hands...
There has been a several live Bowie releases this year. Most are streaming only. This is just my most recent addition, from 1996. David Bowie - Changesnowbowie
A nice 'unplugged' type set with even a Tin Machine song.
Feist is usually my go to for a sunday relaxing Record, but I decided to change it up. This record has the same vibe I want on a sunday and is super underappreciated
Day 22: “Collectors Corner”.. play a rare, unusual or valuable release , or one you’ve got umpteenth copies of
Lee Morgan Sextet - Volume 2 (Blue Note, 1957 First Mono Pressing)
For years now I have been building up my collection of Lee Morgan records. His music has captivated me for ages and I honestly could listen to his music forever without getting bored. For quite a while I had accepted the fact that I would never own first pressings of his early albums, but over time I have managed to find fantastic deals and have now amassed quite the collection. In fact, I only need a few more until I will have his complete discography as lead, plus a ton of others which features him in the title or as a main musician. For today I have chosen my most recent Lee Morgan find, a first pressing (Lexington, Ear, RVG) of Volume 2. I have also included a photo of my first pressings of some of his early albums which I cleaned earlier today, Introducing (on Savoy), Volume 3 (Blue Note), The Cooker (Blue Note), Lee-Way (Blue Note) and City Lights (Blue Note)
This is kind of a corny answer but no album makes me sadder than this one. I experienced my first broken heart in 2015 right before this album came out so the songs on it will always be tied to that. One of my most vivid memories of that year is listening to this the first time while grocery shopping and ugly crying in front of the cashier the first time I heard "All I Ask".

“We were ready to rock out and we waited and waited and finally it was our turn ... there were a half million people asleep. These people were out. It was sort of like a painting of a Dante scene, just bodies from hell, all intertwined and asleep, covered with mud. And this is the moment I will never forget as long as I live: A quarter mile away in the darkness, on the other edge of this bowl, there was some guy flicking his Bic, and in the night I hear, "Don't worry about it, John. We're with you." I played the rest of the show for that guy.”
- John Fogerty, recalling CCR’s set at Woodstock which started at 3:30 in the morning.
Normally I steer clear of picture discs, but this one looked so cool I jumped on it. I don't spin it a lot so I guess it's more of a collector's item for me. And I can't help but notice it has some value according to the 'cogs.
