I just got out of ROS with my daughter. I was right about the retconning, and the subtle, and not so subtle jabs at RJ that made me smile. I was pleasantly surprised at how good of a movie they were able to make. It’s definitely flawed, and overstuffed but overall I enjoyed it. It seemed like JJ crammed the second part of his trilogy into the first half of this movie while he was busy undoing the damage that RJ did in the last go around.

I’ve got to ruminate on it more and I’ll have more thoughts, but overall, I liked it.
 
Finally watched the last jedi and it was really good, and actually poignant, and incredibly reverent to the original trilogy while also being open to move things forward. So, so dumb that a vocal "fan" base harassed a great group of creatives about it and undid a lot of the direction it was taking things. Not super stoked to see the third one anytime soon if it backtracks some of my favorite Star Wars choices / moments ever.

I remember being a nerd in grade school / high school and feeling camaraderie with my fellow dorks and losers, Freaks and Geeks style. Sucks that nerds are also overwhelmingly bullies and racists these days! Woof.

I only have Star Wars despecialised. I did torrent both versions I have, but I can’t remember where I got them. Would be interested in Empire and Return as well.
 
It's not too difficult. You just need a torrent client program like uTorrent and an ISP that doesn't get angry that you're downloading multiple GB files.

Yes they are still the best. I got them from the OG sites and burned them on DVDs. I’m sure you can torrent them on the usual places.

they did, it was a bonus disc on special editions. I think that it was just a straight transfer of the laser disc version with no work done for the higher resolutions. The despecialised versions are just about hitting blu ray quality and are working towards 4K quality versions if I remember correctly.

Moff Gideon uses the Darksaber at the end to escape his downed Tie Fighter, so...

Are we to believe that Bo-Katan Kryze died at Gideon's hand during the Purge of Mandalore / Night of 1000 Tears?

I know that makes the most sense, but does anyone have any other theories on how he got it?

Until there is evidence to the contrary, that’s unfortunately the most likely scenario.
