Television

File this under “late to the game,” but I just finished a couple-week binge of The Leftovers (it took half as long to get through seasons 2 and 3 as it did to get through 1 alone). Holy moly; I can see how that show may have been tough to hang with week-to-week at times (personally, I saw the pilot when it came out and tapped out due to grimdark stuff). What a damn finale that was.

I am utterly surprised to see online that there’s a contingent of people who swear Nora is lying about having gone to the other side. Maybe I’m missing something thematic about the show/season/episode, but I see no reason not to take her at her word.

Also, I love the "reveal" that everyone who Departed experienced the 98% disappearing around them; it does so much to shade in the event without giving any answers. Between this and Watchmen, I feel Lindeloff does such a good job of not just presenting questions (and answers when we're lucky), but rather posing the question and then exploring it.

One of my favorite all time dramas. The ending was perfect.

The Parks and Rec special maybe had a few too many callbacks, but I don’t even care because it was such a joy to see everyone again. It made me so happy. And the script made sense to me, didn’t feel like a for no reason sort of thing. One of the best surprises in this quarantine by far. And now I must rewatch it all.

I loved it. And will be watching it multiple times this weekend.

Just started the series back from the beginning today. It's already making me feel happy even if season one is almost almost a different show than what it became.
You are probably aware that It was originally written as an Office spin off, but that idea was obviously scrapped but it think the initially wrote Leslie Knope as a Michael Scott-esque Buffoon and it took most of the first season for Poehler and Schur to Flesh out her character, that being said the secondary character (outside of sad dog Mark Brandanowitz) Hit their respective strides much faster than their Office counterparts.

Yeah it’s clear she’s a bit dumbed down in the first season. But the personalities of the other characters, except maybe to some extent Andy, are all starting off similar to what they’d become.

Some updates...
Finished S2 E4 of Dead to Me, loving it.

Not sure why I’m still watching Run, there’s really nothing likeable about the leads.

Ep 1 of the Eddy was interesting enough for me to keep watching.

Did not realize Dead To Me was back... gotta get on that.

I'm halfway into season 3 of Parks And Rec. Yeah, we've been going through it very fast. This is the most comforting show for me right now. I had forgotten some of these episodes completely. Also this go-around I think I'm enjoying Andy the most.
