Television

I thought it was great. Be ready for some monologues though. 🤣
Yeah, Mike Flanagan is much more of an ideas guy than a dialogue guy. Midnight Mass conceptually, is probably the best Stephen King thing that's not Stephen King, and the worst part is whenever anyone speaks.

I think it's easily the best thing that has been released in Phase 4. Everything else has (IMO) felt pretty inert, but this one feels fresh and has an energy to it that I haven't really felt in the post-Endgame movies (and certainly not in the rest of the Disney+ shows).

Also, I'm halfway through the second season of Reservation Dogs. It reminds me a lot of its FX sister show Better Things in some ways, and I think I like this show even more. Big shout out to Wes Studi just taking a victory lap around every scene he's in.
Agreed on She Hulk, I think it's great. And S2 of Reservation Dogs has taken the show up a notch, it's fantastic.

I totally agree. When I recommend the show to people (pretty much everyone that will listen) I tell them that S1E1 isn't the best representation of what the vibe of the show is.

Here's a question, pretty sure it's not spoiler-worthy.
When Bear puts a coin in the Indian Fortune Teller booth, it's definitely his Spirit's voice. I assume that is deliberate, but did Bear recognize his voice?

I made it to the penultimate episode of Midnight Mass and holy shit what a ride. Based kinda on what I knew of the plot, I imagined a much dumber show...but this one surprised me with how good it is. I enjoyed Hill House a lot, but I didn't actually finish Bly Manor (gonna have to do that soon). Midnight Mass is very different from those two, but the way it builds and builds is exactly the kind of stuff I like. About the monologues...yes sometimes there are a lot, but they genuinely serve a purpose. The only thing that can take me out of it is when they go on just a bit too long and the other person hasn't said anything...and the fact that you notice that a number of times...it's a bit distracting. But overall, I'm genuinely surprised that he managed to make
vampires
actually kind of horrifying. The final sequence in the penultimate episode was tonally the right amount of creepy and disturbing and exciting that just hits me.

looking forward to finishing it off and beginning The Midnight Club this weekend.

She Hulk season finale was....
AWESOME!!!
I sort of expected KEVIN to be an AI bot once they started talking about how no one sees him. And when she got in and talked to him, it was sooooooo great. I LOVED how they essentially called out all of the rest of the MU. It was the perfect ending for this show and I have to give the writers a huge cheers for being able to be so self aware and sarcastic with the same humor that was pervasive through the season. I can't wait for this to come back and it's by far, the best thing I have seen from the MU.

I wasn't a huge fan of the show overall, though I didn't hate it. I really like Tatiana Maslany a lot and I thought she was great in the role, and I thought Tim Roth was fantastic, but because it wasn't a super hero show as much of a "Lawyer Comedy" I wasn't super into it. The last two episodes I really enjoyed, though. They sort of spoiled the reveal of K.E.V.I.N. for me, as I always watch with captions, and whenever the writers would say his name, they displayed it as an acronym, but when She-Hulk said it, it was just "Kevin." That whole scene had me rolling, though, I did not expect it to go that 4th wall breaking. I feel I'm a little justified in my overall impression, as it turned out none of the story elements that they built up to mattered all that much. It was fun and I got some good laughs.

I only wish the CGI was more polished. Any time Tatiana is on screen - amazing. She-hulk on screen - awkward.

But I loved the show, definitely in the top tier of MCU shows for me.
