Television

I only wish the CGI was more polished. Any time Tatiana is on screen - amazing. She-hulk on screen - awkward.

But I loved the show, definitely in the top tier of MCU shows for me.
Honestly, I didn't care about the uneven CGI. I am actually turned off by the amount of CGI in Marvel films (I'm looking at you Dr. Strange) and what they did do in She Hulk seemed to me like more a wink and a nod to them not doing the best job of it, so I was ok with it.

That's an interesting point.

Really enjoyed the final episodes of Rings of Power and Bad Sisters. Will have to find something new to watch now. Or just spin more records, that’s never a bad call.
I just watched ep 9 of Bad Sister so need to give myself a couple days before the last ep. Jean Paul character is so toxic I need a good 4-5 days between episodes. His character truly has set the toxic masculinity bar high (or low)

Totally. But I think the fact that we know what’s coming to him makes it bearable in the episodes, because he really is quite dark otherwise.

I'm not through the final episode yet but honestly his character is one of the only issues I had with the show. He's so comically evil that I can't see him as a real person. I don't see what motivates him, he's so awful, 24/7 that I find him to be very one note. That being said I still enjoy the show.

Do sociopaths have or need motivations beyond their own entertainment/amusement?

When it's to the level that his character is at? I feel like yes, because it's less interesting to watch when you know he's simply going to do the worst thing possible to every single human he comes into contact with.

I suppose but it’s also as a foil to allow empathy with the sisters because otherwise aren’t you really just being asked to root for 4 people trying to off their annoying brother in law.

Really enjoyed the finale of Rings of Power. Had me on a couple twists, and the big reveal. Liked how it settles the storylines of this season. Feels like we're really getting into the meat of these stories now. Looking forward to the next season, although I'm sure it's ages away.

They’re filming it in Britain as we speak. I’m hearing about the same time next year.

Hopefully the story just keeps going because the first 5 and a half episodes of this dragged, it took way too long to hit its stride, albeit the end of the season was strong.

Season 1 took 18 months to film tho, albeit that was in the height of covid, and I'm sure most of the work for this show comes in post production. Next year would be good though!

But yes, I agree. hope it keeps the momentum going.

I gave up around episode 5. I'll probably go back and finish eventually but there's so much good tv on right now that I'm in no rush to watch just yet.

I understand dropping after that episode, but episode 6 is where it starts to get really good. A lot happens in that one.

Finally getting around to S3 of the Duece. This show is so fn underrated. Easily my 2nd favorite David Simon work.

S3 does such an incredible job with the AIDS epidemic. The character development over 3 seasons is extremely well done and the dialogue is always on point. Maggie and even Franco are excellent as are all of the lesser known (or Wire based) actors.

Looking forward to seeing how the final couple episodes play out.
