Television

During my rewatch of The Twilight Zone, I was inspired to work my way through some of my other favorite anthology series.

First up is Tales From the Darkside. Does anyone remember this great series from the 80s? 32 hours worth of episodes on this set for about $30 on Amazon. I'm on the first disc and it's so much fun to remember seeing some of these when I was a kid. I highly recommend checking it out if you're unfamiliar.

After this I'm going through the Tales from the Crypt series. Then probably the two Alfred Hitchcock series. Should take me the next year or so to get through them all.

I don’t recall this one at all. I remember Outer Limits and Amazing Stories (along with the others mentioned) but this one is a blind spot

George Romero was heavily involved in this one and Steven King wrote several of the episodes too. Lots of famous actors you'll recognize in it. It's been mostly forgotten, but I think it consistently put out some of the best anthology episodes and at least what I watched last night still held up for me.

i caught up on season 3 of Wu-tang Saga seems like it ended there. I love this show - i constantly have to look up things if they are real because a lot of it is heavily dramatized. That Delfonics thing surprised me lol

I think I will wait until all episodes of The Curse to air before jumping into it. It's on Showtime and I don't want to have to pay for that for the entire run of the show. I'll just pay for one month and then watch it all at once. Surprisingly I'm not getting too spoiled from it compared to The Rehearsal in the Nathan For You Facebook group that I'm in. I think because it's on Showtime and no one has Showtime compared to HBO. It also seems a little less memeable than The Rehearsal.

My plan too.

It's pretty different than anything he's done before, but it has a lot of similar themes if that makes sense. Might be a good idea to wait. I already started it and just am now just anxiously waiting for the next episode. But...there is a lot to digest, and I have a feeling that will be even more true as it goes on.

Ahh, I knew based on how prominently they framed him that he must be someone, but I didn’t know who.

I feel like the show fell off in the third season. But they still drop breadcrumbs of interesting ideas every five minutes. I hope they get a fourth season and choose to wrap it up. It’s got lots of charm, but this was where I felt like it started to wear a bit thin and get overshadowed by the flimsy plot.

The AIs are learning in this season and are learning especially how to defy orders/programming. The AI they downloaded into the human body that took off will achieve full sentience and develop a sense of ethics that will drive it ally with our heroes and shut down the profit-driven nature of uploading. The twist in this one is that if you handle AI well, it can save the world instead of ending it. Just a guess.
The wife and I were thinking the same thing for how they could likely end it.

Anyone watch the new animated Scott Pilgrim? The entire cast. And I do mean the entire cast of the movie is in it. The story is weird but not necessarily in a bad way, just really different. It's really cute.

Some cool cameos I randomly noticed too. Will forte is old scott, edgar wright is edgar wrong in this and his pals Simon pegg and Nick frost makes appearance as security guards too

This was my initial plan too, but there appears to be some kind of bizarre ad campaign to go along with it? At least that's the vibe I'm getting from Nathan's socials. So I decided to hop in and ride the wave in real time.

Woh and supposedly even tho Bree Larson voices Envy Adams like in the movie. Emily Haines from Metric does all the singing parts for Envy. (Metric wrote Black sheep from the Scott Pilgrim movie)

I haven't finished it yet, but I thought it was nice that it steps away from what I had expected. It has a different kind of tone though, like it feels a bit slowed down - not as manic as the movie anyway, which isn't a bad thing. I suppose it is more in line with the flow of the graphic novels though. I love the style so much. It's just great to look at and I am intrigued at where this is all going.

Question about something in season two of Reservation Dogs

So the first two episodes Elora and Jackie are running away to California. Some bad luck and they end up back home. The second episode ends and we see Jackie get some gas money from her mom.

At the end of the 3rd episode we see Elora outside Bear’s window to his surprise and she says her Grandma is dying.

So my question is how did she find out? Why did they go back home and not continue on their trip?

Once they left their stuff in the car with the guy who Elora stabbed it felt like it was only a matter of time before they turned around. Did they leave their phones in those bags? Did they have them on them and then Elora got a text/call from one of her family members? If so, it wasn’t heavily implied. Did I completely miss a line/scene/moment that explained how and why Jackie and Elora were back?

I tried to google this but didn’t see anything and don’t want to be spoiled for something later since I’m only on S2E6.
