Television

I've actually quite enjoyed the return to having a night of the week to be excited about once in awhile.
It’s when they try to do both that gets me. A small block to get you hooked and then stringing you along after that. My beef is with Bad Monkey on Apple. I thought the season was done and we started watching, only to discover they had only dropped 3 episodes.

On the plus side, I have really enjoyed Bad Monkey.

For me, the only heavily rematched is Band of Brothers. I have probably watched the entire 5 times since it first came out. I have several of the episodes loaded on my iPad for travel, so depending on which episode it is (like the first 2) I probably have watched 10+ times.

I have done series rematches on What We Do In The Shadows twice now. We rematched seasons 1-3 before season 4 and now are rewatching 1-5 waiting for the new season to start.

This is on my list. Looks like a good time. The preview kinda reminds of the overlooked Donald Logue detective show, Terriers.

I feel the need to watch Breaking Bad again, and it'll probably be my fourth time. Sopranos and Mad Men might be higher than that. Just curious how others are with re-watches....what's your highest amount of watches for a particular show you love?

Couple decades ago I watched Clerks: The Animated Series well over a dozen times - but at only 6 episodes that's pretty easy to do.

These days it's The Wire which I've watched 3 times and have been thinking about rewatching again lately

My wife is a serial rewatcher of shows, but I only really do that with cartoons like Bob's Burger, Gary and his Demons, The Simpsons, etc. Mainly because I'll toss them on in the background when I'm cooking dinner or grading papers.

I'm terms of legit rewatching. I think I've done Star Trek: The Next Generation four or five times. I did Breaking Bad twice. Recently did Station Eleven for the third time. I think I've watched season one of Westworld a few times too.

I've been wanting to do a TNG re-watch for a long time now, but haven't actually set down to do it.

Also just remembered I watched the first season of True Detective 3 times.

I think I'm on my 5th watching of West Wing. Figure I may just see the current day issues still being talked about 20 years ago. Still my favorite show though, such a great cast.

As far as dramas go:

I have rewatched Band of Brothers more than a dozen times (it’s only 10 episodes so it invites rewatching without too much commitment). I recently rewatched The Pacific for the first time and while it was better than I remembered it still doesn’t hold a candle to Band Of Brothers.

I have watched Deadwood twice but the movie only once. I have also watched The Wire, Justified and Rome twice.

I’ve watch The Sopranos three times and I watched Breaking Bad three time, the last time I rewatched it, it was part of a super rewatch that included Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is one that I have rewatched multiple times season to season, I would rewatch all prior seasons once a new season started up; so I have watched the first season 6 times but the final season only once. I also did something similar with Succession so the first season, I have watched 4 times but the final season only once.

I have rewatched seasons of Game Of Thrones multiple times in much of the same way but since the show ended I have rewatched the show in its entirety 2 more times. Mad Men is my favorite. I have watched it all the way through 5 times but I need to work through it and Sopranos each another time now that I have episode guides that I want to accompany through each shows rewatch respectively.

I am thinking about rewatching the first season AMC’s The Terror since I noticed it’s now available for streaming on Netflix.

I also need to finish up Northern Exposure and now that Homicide: Life On The Streets is streaming on Peacock I need to dive in to that fully.

As far as “Comedies” go, I have seen The Simpsons, particularly the first 10 seasons, more than any other show by far. I have also watched Cheers, Seinfeld and 30 Rock dozens of times. I have also rewatched Happy Endings, The Office and Parks & Recreation several times. I have also watched The Adventures of Pete & Pete all the way through at least 5 times. I have also rewatch Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared on multiple occasions.

The most recent rewatch show on the lists are House of The Dragon and The Bear which I am rewatching every time a new season drops.
