Severance: good finale! Certainly stuck the landing and got my interest piqued for another season. I do think the second season got a lot more interested in the puzzle box of it all than I’d prefer and veered away from the sci-fi-meets-workplace-farce of the first season.
Liked the episode, but possibly not the choices made.

I actually really liked this series. I enjoyed the episodes away from Lumon, I thought they were interesting ways to add to things. Hope we don't have to wait so long for the next season.

Watched Adolescence E4 last night. Gutted by that last scene. It's up there with a scene near the ending of Wit as far as emotional weight for me.

Professor Ashford in the hospital bed reading Runaway Bunny to Professor Bearing when is very near death.

I am so glad they didn’t take the easy shortcut of making him come from an unloving or abusive family. That’s why the scene is so powerful you get the trip to the store and you see a family unit that is full of love and care. Society has failed Jamie, his family was never the problem and yet they still feel like they failed their son. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

It really is so heartbreaking. I have a close friend that went through something similar when his brother committed a violent crime...it helped me gain perspective; the families of people that do awful things aren't always monsters, and they live with those deeds regardless.

Severance finale slapped. This season wasn't perfect, but the highs were so high. So much to love in this last episode. Hilarious, and exhilarating and heartbreaking. Hopefully we won't have to wait as long for next season.

Also

Agreed! The episodes leading up to the finale was alright but this last one was great. Wish we had more answers though. The answers we got made me even more confused.

Idk I'm starting to hone in.

Saw this description of cold harbor that summed up what I was thinking for this episode.

Basically they're just fine tuning the severance technology to spread it everywhere. I wonder if the goat stuff has more substance or is really just a devilish sacrifice type thing sonce Lumon seems to be a religious cult.

But at the end of the day I enjoy not having all of the answers here, it makes the show more fun to watch with the intrigue. The character dynamics and the show's commentary on work, work culture, and what we do to ourselves for work are the selling points of the show to me. That was definitely the highlight this season.

Yeah they’re 2/2 on season finales now. Not sure where they go from here but it feels like a Leftovers situation where you shouldn’t need more than 3 seasons to tell the story. Once the innie storyline concludes there’s really no need to jump the shark, but we’ll see.

Absolutely agree here; my gripes with season 2 revolved around an increased focus on mysteries and dangling answers in front of the audience above character development and drama. The finale may have served some answers, but they were more vibey than concrete, and I felt more story potential come from the finale, which is super promising.

We plowed through all of Adolescence tonight. Wow. That was a very gutting series. The continous one shot was pretty amazing. The family episode was very tough but I think the psychologist portion was equally tough. I think of all the good people out there who do a thankless job like that in a society that undervalues and doesn't try to understand mental health. This series did a great job of showing the complexity of an issue like this. It's not just one thing you can point to as being the problem.
