This is great driving music!
I absolutely loved this. I generally dig a lot of punk and have been a lot more hit and miss with post-punk, but this one really tickles me in great ways! I love how much is going on throughout the songs and album, but how cohesive it remains. I can see how some may find the vocals a bit abrasive but they work for me. The rhythm section slays throughout and there are some really fun harmonies. On initial listen I generally dig the lyrical content as well.

Love it!
"Go West" is the first Pet Shop Boys song I recall knowing was a Pet Shop Boys song, though I'm sure I heard earlier ones and was unaware at the time. They are a band I seldom seek out and have nearly never owned anything by but am absolutely thrilled whenever they come on. It's hard to be in a bad mood listening to Pet Shop Boys! "Yesterday When I Was Mad" was a big highlight for me this listen. 4/5

BUsh should be sued out of existence.Probably a copyright/name dispute thing. Bush was Bush X in Canada due to a name dispute.

As far as I know, this is my first time listening to an entire album by ZZ Top. It's pretty much exactly what I'd expect from a whole album of ZZ Top - it sounds like ZZ Top. Funny that they're a band I never really got into very much because I do very much enjoy their sound. I quite enjoyed this - especially in the work truck with the windows down on a sunny day! "TV Dinners" was the one moment on the album that felt unexpected. 3.5/5, round up.
More Brit Pop, I guess this is crunchier and glammier than Oasis or Blur.

Ohhh Very. Yeah, their run of Actually, Behaviour and Very is flawless. I wish I had more time to give to this thread. I was doing this for a while and it was fun!I love the Pet Shop Boys, so does @Kris
There’s some, @Twentytwo might know better than me, I would say give Rosegold by Ashley Monroe a listen62/1001First time listening. This is one of the best modern country/pop crossovers I've heard possibly ever. Kacey has really pretty vocals, particularly gripping on the opener "Slow Burn," sounds like leaves falling in autumn. The ending run of "High Horse" to "Rainbow" is godtier, and amplifies my impression/score considerably. I do think the middle of the record has a few tracks that didn't stick out to me, but may have just been my then feeling after a pair of listens.
Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour
You're not going to get me to be a country music believer, but this one is a wonderful marriage of two worlds. I've noticed that sticking to women in the genre bears better results overall for me.
Personal highlights: "Slow Burn," "High Horse," "Golden Hour"
Rating: 3.5/5 [Great]
I listened to Kacey's Star-Crossed from a few years ago as an introduction and I thought that was trash. This one is so much more vibrant and dynamic (and far more memorable songs). It appeals much more to the poptart in me. I'm very happy with this one, and I may this move this up a half point in time (I can't see this ever being a 5 though).
Please god tell me there's more country music like this...oh please
This one really straddles the line of country and pop music. Where Star-Crossed was more fully in the Pop category. I tend to prefer her more country leanings (I didn’t enjoy Star-Crossed at all either) have you listened to any of Kasey’s first two albums? If so what do you think of those?62/1001First time listening. This is one of the best modern country/pop crossovers I've heard possibly ever. My rankings would be:
01.) Pageant Material
02.) Butterfly
03.) A Very Kacey Christmas
04.) Same Trailer, Different Park
05.) Star-Crossed
Sorry, yes, thank you. I was thinking of a song on the album and typed the wrong thing. Also, The song is “Butterflies” not Butterfly so I really mucked it up.Butterfly?
