Yeah it is! I started out wanting reference versions for the three stereo only albums and then it snowballed into getting all the stereo mixes to have the MoFi set. I’m saving now for the last one, even the median is really uncomfortable on it, there’s no way I’ll pay what the current listings are!


They did in the early 80s. They did a box set, with the unusual step of using generic covers and the artwork in the booklet, and also separate with the proper artwork. The rumour is that it was a one time only thing and it took a lot of effort to get the tapes out of abbey road to do them. To the point that apparently they broke the stamper for “With the Beatles” mid way through the run and were told “absolutely no chance” when they asked for the tapes for only that album again to do a new master to finish the run, that’s why it’s so expensive, there are a lot less of them in existence.

Actually @Mather , now I think of it I have a 24/96 vinyl rip of the 2014 mono box on a hard drive. I’ll see if I can upload it somewhere for you. Also I didn’t do it, someone who clearly has miles better gear than me did!

Thanks mate @Sonicpharmacist got the ALACs to me on Google Drive. Popped it onto my phone and I'm good to go. Although I'm not entirely sure how much fidelity I'm losing using ALAC over Bluetooth from my android to the Bluesound Node...

Likely none. Most Bluetooth can do upto CD quality and those were only ever done 16/41 for CD, they didn’t have an accompanying USB with 24/192 files on it like the stereo mix.
 
So this MoFi Revolver is very very very good. Beautiful mastering job. Also this mix isn’t anywhere near as extreme as what went before. Some songs, particularly the more straightforward rockers, are still hard instruments left and most vocals right, but, the more complex arrangements as the band expand their sound are definitely exhibiting a more even mix, I’m Only Sleeping in particularly feels very cantered.

A steal at $2,000. They have a nice Bob Marley box set too for only $450.
