The Beatles

Yeah these MoFi pressings are really nice! This album is definitely one of the ones I’ve most been looking forward to getting! They are spendy but I’ve managed to wash my face by selling stuff to find them. Have Please Please Me, Revolver and A Hard Days Night on the way which just leaves the scary expensive With The Beatles that I need but I’m I’m balking at the price of that one!
Nice, one seller for those 3? All NM?

So actually PSA.

If anyone has any leads on a MoFi With The Beatles that may be available around the cogs median, and they don’t want it, please pass on the intel. I can’t justify the €750 that is the cheapest currently listed but I can swing the median price even though it’s far more than I’d ever want to spend on a record!

Cheers!

This beauty arrived unscathed from it’s transatlantic voyage. Hoping the three currently on their way from Canada arrive soon!

When you complete the set (or sooner), I’d like your general review of which Beatles Mo-Fi pressings you prefer. I don’t know any Mo-Fis but if I ever dip my toes into that water, it’ll probably be because of the Beatles.

So far it’s the white album which is the best of all the versions of the white album I’ve heard. I really am quite taken by it. But definitely when I get the next three in I’ll give them all a listen to and let you know. I’m likely going to have to play a waiting game for With The Beatles so it could well be a long time before I have that one!

So this Rubber Soul sounds so good, they’ve done a really good job of it. However, the stereo mix is still the crude bits shoved in each speaker so it’s not the most centred record in the world. So if some cruel man came and forced me at gunpoint to only keep one it’d likely be my 2014 mono that I’d keep, as really excellent as this pressing is!

TELL ME ABOUT REVOLVER DAMMIT JOE

I'm interested in picking that one up but I was wondering about the mix. Is it likely to be the same situation with the weird panned stereo?

Erm because I’ve not listened to the stereo mix of that album since I was listening to CDs and I gave my Beatles CDs to my dad for his holiday house I honestly can’t remember. I think, and I’ll confirm this when they turn up, that revolver is the best realised stereo mix prior to the white album but that it still had elements of fhe panning. I suppose if you listen to it on tidal it will give you a good idea?

Yeah good call. Can you DM me what price you got for that one? I'm looking at one NM but it ain't cheap...

Man you know what REALLY sucks? I just realized the Beatles mono cuts aren't even on streaming. There's no way to hear them unless you can track down the vinyl or find the CDs.

Cds were only available in the box and it ain’t cheap these days either.
