While I do like Best In Show - my money is on Waiting For Guffman as the best of Christopher Guest's "mockumentaries". I think the order they were released is also my order of best to "worst"....although I haven't watched For Your Consideration more than a couple times. I think I've watched Guffman at least 50, probably more.

Griffin Mills: "I was just thinking what an interesting concept it is to eliminate the writer from the artistic process"
Wyclef Jean – Cheated (To All The Girls)
All that kept coming to mind for me on this one was Wyclef coming after LL Cool J and his ghostwriters on "What's Clef."
Some context for those who didn't follow the classic hip hop beef:
A young hungry rapper named Canibus was brought in with Redman and Method Man to guest on an LL Cool J song. In the opening of his original verse he gave nods to the other emcees: "Heyo Red, where the squad at? Meth, where the gods at? Hey L is that a mic on your arm? Lemme borrow that..." LL took exception to the line and had Canibus redo his verse, but then redid his own verse, after the fact, to diss Canibus right in the song he featured on! Needless to say, Canibus was pissed and went on to record the absolutely savage Wyclef-produced LL diss record "Second Round K.O." LL came back at Canibus and Wyclef with "The Ripper Strikes Back" (which was, admittedly, the strongest thing he'd recorded in years.) Not willing to just sit back and take the diss, Wyclef came back with his own unprecedented (and more melodic) savagery on "What's Clef," which included this Tina Turner-inspired gem of a chorus:
What's Clef got to do with this?
Got to do with this?
What's Clef?
I'm not a Bob Marley imposter.
What's Clef got to do with this?
Got to do with this?
Tell your ghostwriters go write something better!
Day 08: Meet The Parents
Sparta - Wiretap Scars The two moments that immediately jump out at me with regards to Meet The Parents are the scene where De Niro is asking, “I have nipples Greg, can you milk me?” and the scene where Stiller is hooked up to a lie detector. I went with the latter because I didn’t want to dig out my copy of Herbie Mann’s Push Push. And yeah I know a wiretap and a lie detector are different devices but I would image that a retired CIA agent probably is familiar with both devices.

Play something you'd spin if you decided to shirk any Monday responsibilities you have/play hooky
Today is Thursday, not Monday, but I would have loved to play hooky. It's 60 here in Michigan, which is nuts in early February. In fact, it's milder here than it was the few days I spent in Savannah earlier this week.
The primary reason for playing it is because it's a box set, which would be a good thing to dive into on a hooky day. So I planned on playing this for this topic when I first made the prompts, who knew it would feel like spring today?
