The February Record Spin Challenge - It's All Connected, Maaaannnnn

24. Play something in a different format (physical or digital) than yesterday’s pick.

I'll go with a DVD.

At the time, 12-31-2004, this was GBV's farewell show.

Not many DVDs come with a fold out poster. This one was the setlist.

And yes, folks - that's a 61 song setlist. Played every damn one of 'em.......and an additional 8...

25. Play an album that’s more of a crowd-pleaser than yesterday’s.

In my live music lovin' mind, I can't really think of anything more crowd pleasing than a 69 song live set. Granted, the crowd that could hang with that would be small. I'll go with a record with more mass appeal...

Released 48 years ago. A Top 5 Zeppelin song for me...

Led Zeppelin - Physical Gaffitti

Call me crazy, but I think they’re in my top 10 Maya Rudolph bands
Yeah, Maya is just in the middle of it all.

Did you know the other female former member of the Rentals is now a hard right Republican Iowa congresswoman?

For a second, I thought you were talking about Petra Haden and I was like, huh? no way.

Weezer pleased the crowd more than the Rentals. They were never the same without Matt Sharp. Which now reminds me of this Onion article:

The National "Alligator" - I've seen this band numerous times and the crowd always seemed pleased with their performance! I live north of the boarder so most hip hop show either never happen or start at like 2am, rapper and 100 hype men hit the stage, scream over a track or three, shit on the soundman and bounce! I still leave pleased!

Note: I'm old and haven't been to a hip hop show in ages! I also only really like shows that start on time and end before 11!!!

23. Play something that uses rhythm in a similar way to yesterday’s album.

Various – Impulsive! Revolutionary Jazz Reworked

Like Wajatta this uses mostly 4/4 electronic beats - in this case, to create contemporary remixes of classic songs from the Impulse! catalogue.
