The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Decent possibility of pitt closing out the season 0-4 (again), getting the wild card (again), and getting bounced first round (again). Clockwork for 10+ seasons now. I'd love to be wrong, but..

You guys should make a a coaching change Mike Tomlin really isn’t getting it done maybe fire him and hire Mike Vrabel or whatever instead.

The past 13 years of MISERY.
Ever since To min lost the Super Bowl he lost what is needed to get over the playoff hump. Just winning enough to be a “winning season”, but ends up with bad place in the draft. Cycle never ends until he’s out as head coach.

These frauds nearly ruined my mom and I’s Christmas.

7 seasons sober.
One of the best decisions I’ve made.
The Steelers will never get to where they want to get to with Tomlin as coach.
Send him to Chicago so TLK can bask in his light.

Completely agree Tomlin is definitely the main issue why the Steelers keep losing in the first round of the playoffs. Mike Vrabel or Brian Flores would absolutely get the Steelers back to the Super Bowl. They should just fire him now and see if anyone else can salvage this disastrous season.

I know we y'all keep joking that y'all want Tomlin, and I get it. A winning season is better than a losing season. But idk, what's the plan here? It really does seem like we've settled for mediocrity since losing to GB in 2011. The last four/five seasons they seem content to make it to a winning record, and then give up the rest of the year. He seems to just check out in late November. A wild card maybe and then a bounce.

Idk what the solution is, I'm no professional, but to be this predictable for so long is frustrating.

We used to have Lovie Smith. He was a really good coach not as good as Tomlin, Lovie never won a super bowl but made it to the big game one season and kept us competitive year in and year out for nearly a decade. We even regularly beat our biggest rivals and routinely competed for division championships but then after another 10 win season where we didn’t make the playoffs we decided that we just needed a new HC to get us over the hump.

Since then we have had 5 different head coaches (next season it’ll be 6), a single winning season (2018) and two playoff appearances (both resulting in wild card losses).

There a so few competent head coaches out there. I would be ecstatic if the bears could find a coach that could lead us to the playoffs consistently for the next decade. With Caleb locked in at QB I think we could win another Super Bowl if we made it to the to playoffs at a regular clip.

I am not joking at all. Unfortunately for The Bears the Rooneys aren’t nearly as brash as most Steelers fans. People like to blame the coach but what are they even blaming him for?

Outside of New England and Kansas City which franchise would the Steelers wanna swaps spots with over the past 20 years?

It’s hard to win a Super Bowl The Steelers have won a lot of them. I don’t think Tomlin coaching is what’s costing playoff wins as much as having a franchise QB.

I just want a playoff win.
I got harassed by bullies as a kid for being a Steelers fan. I have been waiting to prove them wrong. My ex, @RenegadeMonster knows which one, rooted against the Steelers when we lost to Green Bay. She was a Steelers fan who swapped. A year after GB won I congratulated her and asked how their season went, she said she wasn’t a GB fan….. Ever since then I’ve been waiting for the Steelers to win SOMETHING in the playoffs so I can buy that monkey off my back.

Beyonce kicked all kinds of ass. That was Super Bowl Halftime quality. This ain't Texas, yeah sadly it's Houston.
Agreed. The whole Netflix production has been fantastic. I think they have taken the best talent for Fox, CBS, ESPN, NBC, and The NFL Network have put out a quality product (even if the games haven’t been super entertaining). If The NFL wanted to give Netflix a Super Bowl I would be alright with it.
