The football thread RenegadeMonster is looking for: NFL talk

Look at the Ravens. They have Lamar Jackson AND Jon Harbaugh and they haven’t won a Super Bowl as a franchise in over a decade.
As a Ravens fan, this has been a great run but ultimately a frustrating one. The AFC has been super tough and I think only Chiefs fans (and perhaps Bengals with that one Super Bowl run) can be happy with how they’ve done since Brady left New England.

It's crazy that a team with 12 or possibly 13 wins will be a wildcard and the #5 seed in the NFC.
It's also crazy that the Lions could possibly lose the NFC Norris while being 5-1 in said division.
I know you aren't complaining about it, but I'm such a boomer about this. If teams want a home playoff game then win your division.

I am so tired of Joe Burrow having to lift the entire city of Cincinnati on his shoulders. I don't deserve him as a fan. 4600+ pass yds, 42 pass TD, 8 INT, and a ~110 passer rating through 16 games.

How is it that you have a gameline like this and have to scrape by needing two game winning drives in OT?

Saw somebody say call this man Tom Cruise cus his mission is fucking impossible lmao

Edit: right here. Hilarious.

So my aforementioned scenario is playing out. A 14 win team will be a wild card in the NFC. NFL history there.

The stakes are huge in the game Sunday night. A bye week and home field or on the road to begin the playoffs.
In case the Lions stumble Sunday, at least I can have some confidence in their 8-0 road record this year.

It would fit with the teams make up to lose this game, then have to battle through road games throughout the playoffs. It would be poetic if they ended up losing to Minnesota only to then beat Tampa, Minnesota (and hopefully Green Bay) on their way to the Super Bowl.

I don't even have to will it, just the MO the last 10 years. Not even going to watch the game next week.
I think they play Baltimore. Pittsburgh will probably lose but given that it’s an AFC North match up and Baltimore’s recent playoff performance, it could end up being a fun game.

Could be, but our O line looks so shit, I don't have much faith. Lamar's a hometown hero, and has a better shot to go all the way than Pitt at this point, so I wouldn't mind if Baltimore smoked us anyway.

George Pickens was incredibly frustrating to watch tonight. Dudes gotta catch some of those moon balls. Those are The Steelers best equalizer with the offense. If Russ can’t hit deep balls because they keep bouncing off Picken hands they might as well be playing Fields.
