Correct. I think I joined on 12/30/21 - and since they didn't tour in Oregon this summer, these will be my first meaningful "benefits".

Mostly excited for the vinyl - have been loving the downloads from that 2005 show.

The coasters were the cardboard type, nice design but kind of thin. The other stuff was decent quality. I'd say a step down from the hat and koozie in past years though.

I don’t really care about the extras. I don’t wear the hat or scarf or sweat band. I don’t use the tote or Patch or Guitar picks. the print was nice but I mainly sign up for the Record (with the first dibs for concert tix and access to the Cherry Tree store as bonuses) TBH, the Coasters and the Pencil will probably be the most used swag I’ve received from them.

Edit: forgot about the koozie. That is in my beer koozie rotation so it also get a good amount of use.

Merch needs some fresh ideas. I remember when I was dating my now wife, she did some house sitting for a friend. She was feeling snacky and microwaved some popcorn, only to later discover that she had eaten her friend's Josh Ritter-branded popcorn memorabilia. Stuff like that, or the iron-on logo that we got with one of the CT packages, that's what I like.

I would actually appreciate something ephemeral like that if it was creative (and good). Just off the top of my head, here's a few ideas that are probably too punny for the likes of Matt & the Dessners, but:

Bloodbuzz-Orange gummies
High Violet lavender CBD
I Should Live in Saltwater Taffy

I dunno. Miss me with sweatbands & pencils though.

Both my husband's and my Cherry Tree 4 packages arrived today as well. I do like the setlist notebook, it's cute. My husband didn't recognize the item that is a pencil and wondered how to sharpen it

eh could be worse. I'm going to falsely assume they rushed the quality of the items (coaster, notebook are VERY easy to get customized) and are instead thinking of better items for next year's which will ship on time (lol)!
