It's not so much keeping him as it is attracting other good players that want to come to Dallas so that Luka will want to stay. Ultimately, I see him going somewhere else that doesn't have those issues like a Miami, New York, or LA. Free agents just have never been big on Dallas.

NY has never been big for free agents either to be honest. The Knicks bring his favorite team as a kid will always give me a glimmer of hope that he could end up here...but...

Outside of Dallas having another miracle championship built around one star and role players, I agree that he probably won’t be in a Mavs uniform for a super long time.

I still can’t believe two teams passed on him...

Honestly, as a Knicks fan I personally hope that Luka never ends up here. I like that guy, and any future that involves a stint on the Knicks means that something has gone horribly wrong for him.
