The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

This album by way of Ryan Adams was what made me pay attention to Swift (beyond a general knowledge that I was okay with my tween daughter listening to her music quite a few years before this came out). I love it and happen to think it is her best work. Aaron Dessner would be a driving force in me owning quite a few of Ms Swift’s records (mostly on vinyl).

Taylor Swift - 1989

This gave me an excuse to pick up Taylors version. I’ve always liked Swift when I heard her on the radio, but like Lee Newman, Ryan Adams version of this is what made me pick up her albums. This and Red are crowning achievements of bubbelgum pop imo, and the fact that she was barely even 25 when she had made them has some kind of Orson Welles level of prodigy sheen to it. 5 stars.

Sparks - Kimono My House

I'm not sure I've ever really listened to Sparks before. I'm aware of their existence and their general sound but never really dug in deep.

The first track is fun. I bet Of Montreal listened to these guys a lot.
