I gave Buckley a passing listen this morning, it seemed nice. Gonna mark it for a revisit at some point.

I agree that Sam's Town is a good album, but their latest album Pressure Machine is also shockingly good IMO. It was actually in my top 5 albums of 2021!I remember really liking the first half of this record and thinking the second half was a bit boring. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine and Somebody Told Me were always my two fav songs off it. I prefer their second album. Everything after that is a bit meh.

"All of These Things That I've Done" is a perfect song. There, I said it. From the tentative, Bowie-esque build up, the primitive, yet totally infectious guitar line, the way Brandon Flowers accentuates the consonants in "direction to perfection" before the gloroius chorus kicks in to the nonsensical lyrics of the break ("I've got soul but I'm not a soldier"), this song rules! I turn up the volume to eleven every time it comes on the radio and just let it rip!
The rest of the album is also ok.
Bonus: Here's Bill Bailey hilariously sending up the nonsensical qualities of the lyrics:
Similar for me although I kinda lost interest with Day and Age. But a friend recommended Pressure Machine to me, and it pretty much blew me away. A bit more rootsy and heartland rock sound wise, but with some great storytelling in the lyrics.I gave up with Wonderful Wonderful tbh. It was something like 3 or 4 straight albums with only the odd song on them.

You should check out this one:Ashamed to admit that I only really know Bobby Womack from his Gorillaz collabs and Jackie Brown. Always loved the voice though. Looking forward to digging into a full album.
You should check out this one:
It’s brilliant and produced by Damon Albarn
It was my album of the year 2012 and imo the best thing Albarn has ever been involved in.Bobby Womack singing over electronic beats isn't something that I knew I needed until right now.
