The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

Stupid book. This is right up my alley. @avecigrec are the two albums before this as good, just more her and a guitar fare? I take it from the book and allmusic that this is a bigger deal production wise.

Her first one is a collaborative album with Pam Nestor, her songwriting partner at the time. It's a solid enough album. I don't think Ive actually heard her second album. My favourite is probably the one just after this one.

Never heard of her before, but the first song off this is my new favorite song! The rest kinda drifts away into a bit too much funky guitarplodding for my taste (still a fine album though), but "Down to Zero" is just magnificent!

Quick recap of the the last two weeks:

Ray Charles, The Who, Ramones and Pearl Jam are all great classics and I can't really add anything to the discourse around those.
I tried to enjoy Jethro Tull, and it lasted for about two and a halv songs. Nope, still can't understand prog rock.
I have that MJ Cole on CD, but I don't think I've actually listened to it since I bought it. I think I got lured in to it by hip music magazines hyping it. Doesn't really do anything for me nowadays either.
Roni Size was similar to Aqualoung. I gave up after three songs. Drum and bass ain't my bag, sorry.
